1 Screenng Chart As of November 2011 Ths tools chart reflects the results of the fourth annual revew of screenng tools by the Center s Techncal Revew Commttee (TRC). The Center defnes screenng as follows: Screenng nvolves bref assessments that are vald, relable, and evdence-based. They are conducted wth all students or targeted groups of students to dentfy students who are at rsk of academc falure and, therefore, lkely to need addtonal or alternatve forms of nstructon to supplement the conventonal general educaton approach. Chart Features Across the top of the chart are the standards by whch the TRC revews each tool. When vewng the onlne verson of the chart, clck on each standard for a detaled descrpton of how the ratng was defned. The vendors/developers of the tools have provded mplementaton nformaton that ncludes the cost of the tool, what s needed to mplement t, the support provded, how the tool s ntended to be used, and wth whom t should be used. To access ths nformaton, when vewng the onlne verson of the chart, clck on the name of the tool n the column. To vew the specfc data submtted for Classfcaton Accuracy, Generalzablty, Relablty, Valdty, and Dsaggregated Data for Dverse Populatons, when vewng the onlne verson of the chart, clck the ratngs n the chart. When vewng the onlne verson of the chart, Every column of the chart can be sorted by clckng the arrows at the top of the column. The tools n the chart can be fltered by subject and by grade usng the flter tool at the top of the chart. To see all tools agan, ht Reset. can be compared by clckng the boxes on the far rght of the chart. Pck as many tools as you wsh to compare and ht the Compare button. To see all tools agan, ht Reset. The Natonal Center on RTI publshes ths chart to assst educators and famles n becomng nformed consumers who can select screenng tools that best meet ther ndvdual needs. The Center s Techncal Revew Commttee (TRC) on Screenng ndependently establshed a set of crtera for evaluatng the scentfc rgor of screenng tools. The TRC rated each submtted tool aganst these crtera but dd not compare t to other tools on the chart. The presence of a partcular tool on the chart does not consttute endorsement and should not be vewed as a recommendaton from ether the TRC on Screenng or the Natonal Center on RTI. Please note that all submssons to the TRC revew process were voluntary.
