11 3.Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives Initiatives Date Location Description 1 Social Media Training 2 Boy/Girl Scout Troop Tours September 2011 and then ongoing October 2011 Sept. This is a new Entercom initiative offered to Programming employees to educate them on social media skills that will enhance their performance. It will also assist on-air staff with their ratings and name recognition. The training is a 3-day seminar. Entercom sales assistant takes Boy Scouts and/or Girl Scouts on tours of all 7 stations to learn about what goes on behind the scenes in radio and how the stations are run and operated. We show them each department and explain how each department operates. In offering the tours, the Scouts learn how radio works and earn their communications badge. To help our employees maximize the opportunity this change represents, and improve their ability to be more successful in their careers, we have created a training program. This program is for Entercom General Managers, Program Directors, Sales Managers, s, Sales Support and On-Air Personnel. The program includes comprehensive on-line and on-site training for Arbitron professionals, Entercom training personnel, outside consultants and more. The program takes place over a 6-month period. GM Program Director Sales Manager s Sales On-Air Personalities 4 Entercom PILOT 2.0: High Performance Management Training Program October 11-12, 2011 This is a management training program for sales managers designed to help them achieve their objectives through an emphasis on developing and sustaining a high performance sales culture. It is conducted in a seminar environment. It includes interviewing, hiring, and coaching account executives. All Entercom managers attended this program. 12 7 U.S. Army Operations Qualifications Course November 04, 2011 Two one hour talks were performed to Army personnel concerning the basics of radio audio recording. Discussed equipment choices, mic technique, acquiring localized audio for background sources, and focusing creative choices on the listeners world, experiences, and emotional triggers. Approx military personnel attended. Production Manager 8 Internship and Summer Camp Fair November 09, 2011 University of Kansas Entercom representatives spoke to students/interns to discuss the programming, news, promotions, and sales aspects of Entercom and the radio industry. They also discussed careers in radio and offered a Q&A session. Promotions Manager and Web Designer 9 General Manager Meetings January 23-25, Philadelphia, PA Our CEO facilitated a 3-day meeting in Philadelphia, PA for VP/General Managers, select Corporate Directors and Director of Sales. Topics included focusing on a diverse workforce and improving leadership skills. CEO Corporate Directors VP/General Managers Career Development and Networking Conference Entercom s Preventing- Discrimination Policy and Procedure Training February 12, February 15, Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas, KS Conference Call Career counseling and job fair for college-aged students involved on Greek Life at the Universities of Kansas, Kansas Missouri, Washburn, Kansas State, Northwest Missouri State, and many others. An Entercom representative attended the event. While there, he reviewed resumes, discussed career opportunities at Entercom and in radio, and advised college students about how to get their start in media. Entercom s VP of Human Resources facilitated a training session on Entercom s Preventing Discrimination policy and procedure. She also discussed Entercom s EEO Policy and Procedure and reviewed the requirements that each market must complete in order to be in compliance. Approximately 300 people attended. Sales Managers 13 KU Journalism Career Fair March 1, Overland Park, KS Entercom had a booth at the career fair and provided information about careers at Entercom Radio Kansas and handed out job descriptions. Entercom representatives also answered questions by attendees. Approximately 350 attendees participated in the career fair. Sales Managers 14 Kansas University Intern Symposium March 13, University of Kansas Talked with potential interns about the internship program that Entercom Kansas has to offer. Promotions Manager and Promotions Assistant Adult Continuing Education for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (ACED) Program U.S. Army Operations Qualifications Course March 24, March 29, University of Missouri Campus, Kansas, MO Station personnel explained careers in radio, how one gets started in the business, and answered other broadcasting-related questions. Approx 25 people attended. Lecture and discussion on radio programming and production to the US and Allied officers from the US Army s Information Operations Dept. Entercom representatives distributed job openings and answered questions from potential applicants. Approximately 30 people attended and the Entercom representative interviewed 16 of 19 people on site. Managers discussed the career opportunities available in Programming and provided an overview on their specific department. A station tour was also provided. EEO Officer, Sales Managers 21 Missouri Broadcasters Association (MBA) May 31 - June 3, 2011 Branson, MO The Association promotes the interests and welfare of the broadcasting industry in the State of Missouri and foster cooperation and understanding among the members of the association. They promote and encourage customs and practices which are in the best interest of the public and the broadcasting industry and to promote and carry out a strong educational program for the benefits of the association members. DSSM 22 Arbitron Tapweb Training June 26, Arbitron s Tapweb provides quantitative and qualitative data on local radio listeners, and builds radio advertising schedules. A senior training service consultant for Arbitron conducted training on how to use Arbitron Tapweb. Topics included- how to pull rating rankers, audience composition reports, and qualitative listener profiles (what your listeners like to do and the products and services they buy). She conducted two training sessions. s 23 NAB/RAB September 18-21, Dallas, TX Entercom managers and account executives attended the Radio Show, which is produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). The event brought radio broadcasters and industry colleagues together to share knowledge, discover the latest innovations, network with industry leaders and explore creative business strategies to help radio flourish in the digital age. Senior 24 RTDNA/ Society of Professional Journalism September 19-22, Fort Lauderdale, FL The various sessions cover everything from ethics, to social media to the latest news industry trends and technology. 14 25 Internship Program offers internships at the radio stations in our Promotions and Programming departments. Interns must be college students and receive college credit for the internships. The Promotions Directors and the Programming Directors oversee the internships to evaluate the interns and ensure they are receiving information and education. Internships are ongoing. Production Manager Promotions Directors 26 GM Advanced Education Conference Calls Bi-monthly conference calls are held with all Entercom General Managers and other managers/professionals as determined by the call content to enhance learning, skills and internal communication in key revenue generating areas. Market Manager 27 Digital Training Certification Program The Radio Advertising Bureau Digital Certification training program 2.0 is designed to provide sales managers and salespeople with enhanced training on the use of digital marketing assets as sales vehicles. Participants who successfully pass the program are deemed "certified" by the RAB as professional digital marketing sales executives. Director of Digital Sales 28 Sales Associate Program Entercom KC offers a Sales Associate Training Program. Sales Associates are salaried, full-time assistants that work with a specific group of salespeople providing sales support. The Associates participate in external sales calls with AEs, assist in prospecting and conduct cold calls. In addition, all Sales Associates participate in the RAMP Training Program. The position is different from the Sales Assistant position in that after a 9- month to one-year training program, they become s. Four employees participated in this program during the annual reporting period. Sales Managers Sales Associates 29 RAMP 3.0 Sales Training Program Entercom KC participates in Entercom RAMP Training. RAMP is a comprehensive training program designed to teach the AEs about the company, the industry, the market, the station and solving their client s marketing challenges. The program consists of 12 weekly training sessions conducted by the Sales Managers of all of Entercom s stations. After completing the twelve weekly sessions, the AEs become RAMP graduates. RAMP is offered when we hire new to sales radio account executives. 27 s participated during this reporting period. Sales Managers Director of Marketing Services Market Manager Kansas Assoc. of Broadcasters (KAB) On-Air EEO Policy and Invitation to Receive Job Openings Different members locations Our General Manager attends quarterly meetings to plan state-wide job fairs that all member stations may access for recruiting. One day per week during one week every month, airs recruitment advertisements on all stations, seeking applicants across all departments. Advertisements inform the Kansas area of Entercom s EOE policy and invite all organizations to be a part of our recruitment process.
