1 ANNUAL EEO PUBLIC FILE REPORT KOZL-TV October 1, 2013 September 30, 2014 The purpose of the EEO Public File Report ( Report ) is to comply with Section (c)(6) of the FCC s EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following station(s): KOZL-TV The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning October, 1, 2013 to and including September 30, 2014 (the Applicable Period ). The FCC s EEO Rule Requires that this Report contain the following information: 1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Stations comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period; 2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment sources(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section (c)(1)(ii) of the EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number; 3. The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period; 4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and 5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section (c)(2) of the FCC rules. Appendices 1, 2 and 3 which follow have been designed, in the aggregate, to provide the required information. 9 Appendix 3 to Annual EEO Public File Report Covering the Period from October 1, 2013 September 30, 2014 Station(s) Comprising the Station Employment Unit: KOZL-TV Section 3: Supplemental (Non-Vacancy Specific) Recruitment Activities Undertaken by KOZL-TV: Recruitment Initiative 1 Participation in job fairs by station personnel who have substantial responsibility for hiring decisions. 2 The establishment of an internship program designed to assist members of the community to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment. 3 Providing Management Training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination. 4 Participation in an event or program relating to career opportunities in broadcasting which are sponsored by Description Career Day, College of the Ozarks, Hollister, MO, : Attendees were our senior director and KOLR business manager. KOZL-TV has an ongoing internship program for college students to intern in news and production. We had/have interns for this reporting period as follows: Summer 2014-Two interns in news, one from MSU and one from Syracuse; Fall 2014-One intern in sports. EEO Self-Assessment Meeting: On , we had a meeting a meeting to discuss the following agenda: 1. to review our job recruitment sources to make sure we are achieving enough broad outreach to attract minorities, 2. to review the EEO procedures for job openings, and 3. to review our EEO initiatives. Attendees from the station: general manager/vice president, chief engineer, KOLR business manager, assistant regional hub business manager, general sales manager, MCO supervisor, assistant news director, news director, traffic hub manager, senior director, assistant traffic hub manager, creative services director, KOLR program director, managing editor of digital media, and administrative assistant to GM/KOZL program director. Ozarks Technical Community College, , Electronic Media Production Mock Interview: The purpose of the mock interview was to provide a real life interview experience with immediate feedback to the student on how to improve their oral and written communication skills from experts in the field. Our general manager/vice president

10 educational institutions. 5 Establishment of training and/or mentoring programs designed to enable personnel to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher level positions. and our chief engineer conducted interviews. Reed Academy (middle school), , Career Connection Day: Research is showing that most at-risk students have decided to drop out of high school before 9th grade because they have not been connected to college or career aspirations. This event focused on 8th grade students in the career path of Arts & Communications which includes Audio/Video technology, Film, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Journalism, and Broadcasting. The setup was a typical career fair where participating organization/businesses had a 6 ft. table to set up information, pictures, lap tops (no wireless internet available), or banners. The school provided students with a list of guests prior to the event in order to create a smoother and faster engagement process. Students had minutes to explore as many different careers in the allotted time frame. Students were required to fill out an information sheet with specific information needed for a particular career (salary, benefits, pros & cons, training/education, time management). Then each student would write a reflective paragraph determining why they would (or would not) want to pursue a specific career. Station attendees: sports anchor, two reporters, and a news photographer. Job Shadow, : A Kickapoo High School ( Public Schools) student job shadowed a production assistant for three hours as part of an assignment for the Kickapoo University Program. Fremont Elementary School, , Career Arts and Community Day: Students in three sessions questioned our anchor/reporter about her job. Sales department had a program in which several senior account executives were each assigned three to four regular account executives. The senior account executives helped the regular account executives with their training and development.
