RECRUITMET IITIATIVES 1 2 Date 5/4/215 1/12/216 Type of Recruitment Initiative (Menu Selection) Establishment of a mentoring program Hosting of Job Fair Brief Description Of Activity During this reporting period, our SEU mentored two individuals to prepare them for expanding roles in the SEU s operations. First, our long-term Market Manager worked closely with the Sales Manager---both in preparation for the Market Manager s retirement and afterwards---to educate the Sales Manager about station management issues such as administration and human resources. The mentoring included weekly communication between the two and frequent personal visits. Second, a member of our programming team added several sales clients to his duties. In doing so, he met weekly with our Sales Manager to develop his sales skills and improve his comfort level on the street. He also received advice regularly from other members of the sales team who shadowed him on sales calls with him and consulted on his sales presentations. On January 12, 216 our SEU hosted a Career Day at the Eagle Media Center to expose interested individuals to various careers available in the communications industry. Participants were given a tour of the facility to get a first-hand look at how the business works. Then they had the opportunity to visit with employees in their area of interest, such as On Air Talent or Sport & ews or Radio Sales, or Data Entry.
