Running three year asset-based cmmunity prject funded by Lankelly Chase 50% f Gypsy and Travellers are ding 50+ hurs f family care. The issue f parcelling health giving activities as services misses all the imprtance f wellbeing. It isn t imprtant which sectr administers services; the imprtance is wh is best placed t meet the need. 4. NHS New Rles in Yrkshire and Humber Mira Dumma, Directr f Cmmissining Operatins, Yrkshire and Humber Wrks with 23 CCGs in Yrkshire and Humber. NHS England receives funding frm the Department f Health wh decides hw much allcated ut. Our jb is t ensure CCGs are using the mney t best effect fr their ppulatin; addressing health equalities as well as just health. We d planning care and specialist services, CCGs d all stuff in the middle sandwich filling ; jining it all up making sure all three layers wrk tgether and als ensuring sustainability f secndary care services, e.g. hspitals, while delivering pririty. There are gegraphical issues arund equality f access. Patients are mre likely t get a service if they live near t it e.g. thse living in a city such as Leeds are mre likely t be able t get services than thse in mre rural areas. Call fr rganisatins t think abut the service they deliver, rather than fcus n structure f rganisatin, as well as a system change fr NHS and VCS. Issue f where VCS culd successfully mve/deliver services ut f hspitals int cmmunities, hspital cnsultants can becme wrried and claim yu ll lse yur hspital because that s where their jbs are based, which in turn makes the cmmissiners wrried: need t cnvince peple it s nt abut the hspital buildings, it s abut the services being delivered. Q. Andy Burnham said health services shuld be devised by lcal authrities, what is yur pinin n this? A. Many health services are nt delivered within LA bundaries, e.g. Leeds OK, Kirklees nt. LAs als need t engage t ensure n gaps.
