The building is in a quiet location on Park Vista on the east side of Greenwich town centre, close to the National Maritime Museum, Queen s House and the heart of Greenwich. The university s Greenwich Campus, on the site of the Old Royal Naval College, is only a short walk away. Hamilton House boasts a wealth of historic and modern features. It dates back to the 18th century and was once home to Lady Hamilton, mistress of Lord Nelson, hero of the Battle of Trafalgar. 2 The house now provides year-round facilities for conferences and corporate and private hospitality. Spaces vary from elegant meeting rooms to a conference room with capacity for up to 80 people. All rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment.

3 About Greenwich Greenwich is a borough steeped in history and home to the National Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory and Cutty Sark. It is also the place where east meets west on the Prime Meridian line. The bustling town centre has markets, comedy clubs, pubs and restaurants and is approximately 10 minutes by train from central London. The university s Greenwich Campus is part of the Old Royal Naval College, which is located in central Greenwich on the banks of the River Thames. The site boasts some of the most magnificent Grade I listed buildings in the country and forms part of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site. 4 Support We have a team of dedicated events specialists on hand to make your conference or training event run smoothly. When you arrive, a member of the team will greet you and your guests at reception and show you to your room. Hamilton House is equipped with the latest technology to meet conference and training requirements. We offer video conferencing facilities, an infrared hearing loop, the most upto-date teaching software and WiFi throughout the building. Our staff are very knowledgeable about Greenwich, the surrounding areas and Hamilton House. We will ensure you and your guests are provided with a high-level of customer service and a memorable visit to Greenwich. Accommodation Greenwich boasts a number of hotels; Devonport House is a 4* hotel located in a converted building only a few minutes walk from Hamilton House. Other local hotels include Novotel, Ibis and Express by Holiday Inn. 4

5 Rooms for hire Ive Room Named after Jonathan Ive, principal designer of the imac, MacBook, ipod, iphone and ipad, as well as many other Apple products. The Ive Room is located on the first floor of Hamilton House, overlooking Royal Greenwich Park. Facilities The Ive Room provides a 65 CleverTouch LCD system. The system features a dual-touch interactive screen for digital annotation, an infrared hearing loop and a Blu-ray player. 6 Berners-Lee Room Named after Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web. This conference room is located on the mezzanine floor of Hamilton House. It is ideal for all occasions, from lectures to meetings and networking sessions. Facilities A 92" video wall which enabled the presenter to display up to four outputs at any one time A sound system with microphones and a hearing loop. 7 Walton Room Named after Mary Walton, innovator in sustainability. The Walton Room is located on the first floor of Hamilton House. The room is ideal for compact, focused meetings. Facilities The Walton Room provides a high-quality video conferencing system, enabling guests to communicate globally with clarity and ease. The system can also be used as a normal PC and presentation facility and provides two laptop connections. 8 Audio-visual equipment Audio-visual charges apply only if a piece of equipment is not already supplied as part of the cost of room hire. Hire charges also apply to the following equipment: Laptop (with Internet access) Data projector Flipchart stand, pad and pen. In addition, we have facilities for black-and-white and colour photocopying. A charge is made per sheet. 8

9 Catering We work with our caterers and Sustain, the alliance for better food and farming, to provide appetising food that makes a long-term commitment to the sustainability of our planet. We ensure our dishes are enhanced by carefully chosen ingredients and by using the freshest local produce. Simple, good food is becoming more fashionable by the day, and consumer taste is becoming more diverse. We actively seek out new food trends and new ideas while ensuring quality and value are not compromised. We ensure health and nutritional concerns remain paramount. The meals we provide can be easily incorporated into a balanced diet, and we also respectfully accommodate social, cultural, religious and individual dietary requirements. You can select from any number of options, ranging from simple snacks for tea and coffee breaks to more extensive menus for buffets and drinks receptions. Upon request, we can also provide breakfast and cold buffet options. These offer convenience to delegates staying in accommodation during conferences. During 2010, our caterers won the Good Food on the Public Plate and Good Egg awards for their work on sustainability. In 2011, we gained Fairtrade university status. 9

10 Travel information By road Westbound, from the M25 At Junction 2 take the A2 towards London. Continue on the A2 for approximately 15 miles. Continue on to the A102. From east London Head east on the A12. Via the southbound Blackwall Tunnel, join the A102. From the A102 Exit the A102 via the slip road for the A206. Follow the signs for Greenwich. Continue along the A206 for approximately one mile. Shortly after the BP garage on your right, turn left at the traffic lights on to Park Row. Follow the road around to the left on to Park Vista. After approximately 150m, Hamilton House is on your left. Parking There is no parking at Hamilton House, but there is a public car park on Park Row opposite the Old Royal Naval College. There are other car parks in the town centre. By train Southeastern provides direct services from London Charing Cross, Cannon Street, Waterloo East and London Bridge to Maze Hill, a few minutes walk from Hamilton House. Leave the station by the ticket office and walk up to Maze Hill. Turn left on to Maze Hill and then immediately right on to Park Vista. After approximately 150m, Hamilton House is on your right. For train timetable information and a route map, visit By Tube There are no underground stations within walking distance, so you will need to transfer to further public transport. We recommend that you get off at Canary Wharf (Jubilee Line) and take a Lewisham-bound DLR train to Cutty Sark (see below). Alternatively, get off at North Greenwich (Jubilee Line) and take a 188 bus to Greenwich (see opposite). By Docklands Light Railway (DLR) Cutty Sark station is a 15-minute walk from Hamilton House. Direct services run from Bank, Canary Wharf, Lewisham and Stratford. Easy connections are available from Tower Gateway, Beckton and London City Airport. On exiting Cutty Sark station, turn right and walk past an arcade of shops. Exit the arcade on Greenwich Church Street. Cross directly on to College Approach. Walk down College Approach and enter the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College through the West Gate. Walk through the grounds, passing the university s buildings, the Painted Hall and the Chapel. Exit through the East Gate and turn right on to Park Row. Walk down Park Row, crossing the main road at the traffic lights. Continue down Park Row, with the National Maritime Museum on your right. Follow the road round to the left on to Park Vista. After approximately 150m, Hamilton House is on your left. 10

11 By bus Greenwich benefits from regular bus services. The following routes stop on Romney Road: 129, 177, 180, 188, 286 (also a direct route to our Avery Hill Campus), 386. Alight in Romney Road. The closest stop to Hamilton House is for the Trafalgar Estate (there is also a stop for the National Maritime Museum). If alighting for the Trafalgar Estate, turn so the Old Royal Naval College is on your right and the National Maritime Museum is on your left. Ahead of you are set of traffic lights marking a crossroads with Park Row. Turn left into Park Row. Continue down Park Row, with the National Maritime Museum on your right. Follow the road round to the left on to Park Vista. After approximately 150m, Hamilton House is on your left.
