EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS All students must have a valid high schl diplma r G.E.D. certificate r equivalent. HOME SCHOOLING Hme-schled students, are self-certified and fr eligibility purpses. If the state requires hme schls t be registered, The Academy will nly accept diplmas frm state certified hme schl envirnments. 4 PRE-ENROLLMENT INFORMATION The Academy prepares the graduatin rate f its certificate, first-time, full-time undergraduate students annually. The reprting time frame includes September 1-August 31 during which 150% f nrmal time fr cmpletin frm that prgram has lapsed. The infrmatin will be available n later than July 1 immediately fllwing the 12-mnth perid ending August 31 during which 150% f the nrmal time fr cmpletin r graduatin has elapsed fr all f the students in the grup n which The Academy bases its cmpletin r graduatin rate, and if applicable, transfer-ut rate calculatins. Pre-enrllment infrmatin, including graduatin, licensure and placement rates are made available t every student prir t signing their enrllment agreement and befre any financial aid bligatin with The Academy is executed. The Annual Ntice, distributed yearly, cntains the availability f updated infrmatin and where that infrmatin can be fund. GRADUATION /COMPLETION AND TRANSFER-OUT RATES / PLACEMENT The Academy prvides means t this infrmatin in-huse thrugh the Pre-Enrllment Infrmatin dcument (including but nt limited t graduatin licensure and placement rates), which is prvided t all students at the time f cntract signing, prir t the signing f the enrllment agreement (cntract). Under certain circumstances, schls are allwed t exclude frm the cmpletin/graduatin r transfer-ut rate calculatins thse students wh leave schl t serve in the Armed Frces, n an fficial church missin, r with a federal freign aid service, r are deceased r ttally and permanently disabled. The Campus Crime Reprt / Campus Security Disclsure cntains any Academy ccurrences, bth attempted and cmpleted, as reprted regarding statistics fr criminal hmicide, sex ffenses, rbbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, intimidatin, burglary, mtr vehicle theft, larceny-theft, destructin r damage r vandalism t prperty mtivated by bias, any ther crime invlving bdily injury, arsn, liqur/drug/illegal weapns vilatins, hate crimes and vilence against wmen. The prspective student s educatinal backgrund is cnsidered prir t enrlling a student. The Academy des nt admit ability-t-benefit students. All students admitted are beynd the cmpulsry age f attendance fr the State f Texas. All students must be enrlled as a regular student in an eligible prgram. RE-ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR SERVICE MEMBERS An institutin may nt deny readmissin t a persn wh is a member f, applies t be a member f, perfrms, has perfrmed, applies t perfrm, r has an bligatin t perfrm, service in the unifrmed services n the basis f that membership, applicatin fr membership, perfrmance f service, applicatin fr service, r bligatin t perfrm service. The Academy will prmptly re-admit any service member with the same academic status as the student had when the student last attended The Academy r was last admitted t The Academy, but did nt begin attendance because f that service membership, applicatin fr membership, perfrmance f military service, applicatin fr service, r bligatin t perfrm service. Prmptly re-admit means that the institutin must re-admit the student int the next class r classes in the student's prgram beginning after the student prvides ntice f his r her intent t re-enrll, unless the student requests a later date f re-admissin r unusual circumstances require The Academy t admit the student at a later date. INCARCERATED STUDENTS Incarcerated students are nt eligible fr enrllment as all classes and student saln area educatin are cnducted at the physical lcatin. A student is nt cnsidered incarcerated if the student is in a halfway huse, has hme detentin, r is serving a sentence n weekends nly. ENROLLMENT STATUS Students must be enrlled at least halftime t qualify fr available Direct Subsidized / Unsubsidized and Direct Plus Lan prgrams. Part time enrllment f at least halftime des nt reduce the students Pell award. Hwever, if the prgram is less than an academic year in clck hurs r weeks f instructinal time, students enrlled in that prgram wn t receive a full scheduled award. Length f the prgram as defined in clck hurs and weeks affects the amunt f aid a student can qualify fr. Students must cmplete the required hurs and weeks in the payment perid t receive the Pell awarded fr that payment perid. Halftime status is determined by the number f clck hurs the students is attending. CODE OF CONDUCT The Academy s Cde f Cnduct utlines the prhibitin f cnflict f interest with the respnsibilities f an agent f The Academy with respect t educatinal lans. PRIVATE CONSUMER EDUCATIONAL LOANS (if applicable) It is recmmended that all Title IV aid be exhausted first as typically, Title IV has a lwer interest / better repayment rate than cnsumer lans. Infrmatin presented regarding private lans, if applicable, will be presented in a manner that makes it distinct frm infrmatin regarding Title IV, HEA prgram Lans. All textbk and kit items are btained thrugh suppliers that sell nly t licensed beauty prfessinals / csmetlgy clleges. Students are required t purchase frm The Academy bks and kit items, required fr the Educatinal Prgram because they are nly available thrugh suppliers that sell t licensed beauty prfessinals / csmetlgy clleges. The Academy sells textbk and kit items t the Student at the same cst (fr these items) incurred by The Academy. IPADs are used fr each student s text bk. If they are lst, stlen r brken, it is the student s respnsibility t replace them. Apple Care insurance is HIGHLY recmmended and can be btained within 30 days f receiving the IPAD at a reduced rate. The textbk and kit items are nn-refundable. In rder t keep learning materials relatively current with changes in the industry and regulatry changes, The Academy, frm time t time, may change the selectin f textbk and kit items and it reserves the right t d s at its discretin. TEXTBOOK AND KIT DISBURSEMENT POLICY The Saln Prfessinal Academy has payment ptins available fr the purchase f textbks and kit items. Fr thse students using Title IV funds, the charge fr textbks and kit items can be added t the institutin charges. Title IV Funds used fr these csts will be disbursed by the payment perid. The textbk and kit csts are due and payable in the first payment perid. Students that use the Title IV ptin are cnsidered t have authrized the use f Title IV funds t cver the cst f textbks and kit items and will nt need t give further written authrizatin fr this purpse. NOTE: The Student using Title IV funds (Pell Grants, Staffrd Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Lans and Direct Parent Plus Lans) must meet Satisfactry Academic Prgress Plicy requirements, including prvisins pertaining t Financial Aid Warning / Financial Aid Prbatin, pursuant t The Academy Satisfactry Academic Prgress (SAP) Plicy, in rder t remain eligible fr Title IV funding. 9 INCENTIVE COMPENSATION The Saln Prfessinal Academy will nt prvide a cmmissin/bnus r ther incentive payment based in any part, directly r indirectly n success in securing enrllments r financial aid t any persn r entity engaged in any student recruiting r admissin activities r in making decisins regarding awarding Title IV funds. Salaries fr staff assciated with Admissins r Financial Aid will be based n jb respnsibilities, length f emplyment, and standard evaluative factrs. NET PRICE CALCULATOR The Net Price Calculatr is psted n The Academy website in accrdance with the Higher Educatin Opprtunity Act f The Net Price Calculatr allws prspective students t calculate an estimated net price at an institutin based n a student s individual circumstances using the fllwing basic frmula: price f attendance minus grant aid. Based n the infrmatin entered by the student, an average net price f attendance is generated based n what similar students paid in the previus year. This calculatr is designed t help yu estimate yur educatinal expenses after grants and will be used when determining Title IV lan eligibility when wrking with The Academy Financial Aid Administratr (FAA) t calculate yur remaining educatinal expenses. Results f the Net Price Calculatr will be dependent n the accuracy and cmpleteness f the infrmatin entered and is intended t prvide nly a general guide t yur eligibility fr financial aid. All students (cash and Title IV aid) attending The Saln Prfessinal Academy must maintain Satisfactry Academic Prgress (SAP). This plicy cmplies with the guidelines established by the Natinal Accrediting Cmmissin f Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) and the Federal regulatins established by the United States Department f Educatin. The SAP Plicy is given t all students prir t signing the enrllment agreement and is applied with cnsistency, regardless f part time / full time status. SAP is defined as reaching each checkpint f training with a cumulative 85% thery and practical grade average, as well as attended a minimum f 85% f the scheduled hurs at their designated checkpints. Students wh meet these requirements are cnsidered t be making SAP until the next scheduled evaluatin. 85% equates t 117% maximum time frame fr cmpletin f the prgram. Maximum time frame in hurs t cmplete divided by the hurs in the prgram=117% All students will be ntified f any evaluatin that impacts the student s eligibility fr financial aid, if applicable, thrugh means f their Reprt Card, which is signed at each checkpint f training.
