The American Physical Therapy Assciatin has cmpiled several dcuments that describe the prfessinal cnduct expected f a Physical Therapist. These dcuments include: The Cde f Ethics fr the Physical Therapist (Cde f Ethics), which delineates the ethical bligatins f a physical therapist The Guide fr Prfessinal Cnduct (Guide) is an aide t use fr interpreting the Cde f Ethics Prfessinalism in Physical Therapy: Cre Values is a tl that defines each value and prvides sample indicatrs. This set f dcuments guide prfessinal physical therapist practice and fcus n the 5 rles f a practicing physical therapist. As these dcuments frm the basis upn which Prfessinalism in Physical Therapy is examined, yu shuld be familiar with the infrmatin each cntains. As yu cmplete yur graduate DPT educatin and step int yur prfessinal rle- r yur prfessinal yu, yu will be held t the standards utlined in these dcuments. This prcess f grwing int yur prfessinal yu will require yu t participate in activities where yu can try n these behavirs, assess the effect f yur actin, then plan yur actin when the next pprtunity cmes alng. The fllwing self-assessment survey and summary, as well as 2 essays prvides time fr reflecting n the Cre Values f a practicing physical therapist and where yu currently stand n the rad t assimilating these behavirs and values.
