It shws a large sheet (like a sheet f paper) that has many cells in a grid f rws and clumns. Users can put wrds r numbers int the cells, t make headings and stre infrmatin (usually numbers). The primary reasn mst peple use spreadsheets, is fr autmatic calculatins. Spreadsheets can be designed t add up the items/amunts n a bill, calculate ttals, averages, percentages etc. A user can add and subtract the numbers here, even if the numbers are nt next t each ther. In devising the examinatin papers, care shuld be taken t ensure that the learner is given the pprtunity t shw evidence f achievement f ALL the learning utcmes. Assessment briefs may be designed t allw the learner t make use f a wide range f media in presenting assessment evidence, as apprpriate. Quality assured prcedures must be in place t ensure the reliability f learner evidence. Examinatin 100% The learner shuld be allwed 1 hur t cmplete each f the practical examinatins. 1. Database The learner will cmplete a practical examinatin, requiring him/her t cmplete the fllwing tasks: Demnstrate an understanding f hw databases are used in rganisatins Demnstrate an understanding f apprpriate database terminlgy and the structure f a database Use database sftware t create a file fr a suitable requirement. Database file t be a minimum f 1 table, 6 fields f varius datatypes, 10 recrds and 3 queries. Spreadsheets The learner will cmplete a practical examinatin, requiring him/her t cmplete the fllwing tasks: Demnstrate an understanding f suitable uses fr spreadsheets Demnstrate an understanding f apprpriate spreadsheet terminlgy and the structure f a spreadsheet Use spreadsheet sftware t create a file fr a suitable requirement. Spreadsheet files t be a minimum f 1 wrksheet, 6 fields f varius datatypes and 8 recrds. Any audi, vide r digital evidence must be prvided in a suitable frmat. All instructins fr the learner shuld be clearly utlined in an assessment brief and each learner is required t wrk alne in cmpleting this practical examinatin. 12. Grading Distinctin: 80% - 100% Merit: 65% - 79% Pass: 50% - 64% Unsuccessful: 0% - 49% At levels 4, 5 and 6 majr and minr awards will be graded.
