1 Prcedure 3.12 (f) GENERAL EDUCATION General educatin unites cllege students frm diverse areas by adding breadth and depth t their prgrams f study. General educatin cncepts, framewrks, and/r patterns f thinking transcend disciplines r career fields and allw students t think mre bradly and deeply abut tpics and issues. Mnre Cunty Cmmunity Cllege (MCCC) believes that the cllegeeducated persn pssesses a bdy f general knwledge, skills, and abilities that enables the individual t thrive in an increasingly glbal cmmunity. Additinally, an educated persn appreciates and enjys cntinuus learning. T this end, MCCC ffers general educatin within degrees and integrates general educatin cmpetencies acrss the curriculum. General Educatin Gals Student learning is a fundamental cmpnent f the Cllege s missin, visin, cre values, and educatinal bjectives. Therefre, the assessment f student learning is an essential cmpnent f institutinal effectiveness. MCCC is cmmitted t assessing students higher-rder learning skills and affective develpment, as well as the skills required fr prfessinal and persnal success in an era f glbal cmpetitiveness.
