1 GREENPEACE NORDIC Job Description Form Department: Fundraising Location: Helsinki, Finland Job title: Donor Relationships and Marketing Fundraiser Reports to: Fundraising Manager Level: C.X Fulltime General description/purpose of the job: As a department our key responsibility is to maximise income from individual donors by inspiring and engaging them building effective committed relationships. As part of Greenpeace's values we do not accept money from governments, corporations or political parties. We aim to ensure a cost effective, ethical and sustainable fundraising base to meet the needs of Greenpeace in the Nordic region. Our objectives are to: - Achieve income and expenditure targets - Inspire and engage donors - Secure effective, committed relationships - Achieve a diverse and secure fundraising base - Promote Greenpeace's campaign goals and objectives - Broaden the appeal of Greenpeace This full-time position based in Helsinki ensures effective relationship building and retention of financial donors (and potential donors) using a range of traditional and digital methods and activities. The role is also responsible for the effective marketing of Greenpeace to donors, resulting in increased giving and an increased lifetime value. The role is responsible for the development of strategies, budgets, tests and implementation of plans working with regional and country based teams while holding no direct line management responsibilities. The role is responsible for ensuring systems, processes and tools are in place to facilitate the retention of, and marketing to, donors. The role acts as Brand Manager for the fundraising department (based on International Guidelines) ensuring that we have an appropriate and consistent tone and image across all of our communications. The role shall also be responsible for bringing innovative techniques to ensure deepening and more relevant relationships with donors.

2 Description of responsibilities Planning, Reporting and Budget Management: Develop annual plans and income and expenditure budgets. Working with colleagues and /or other appointed person develop 3 year strategic plans and long range income and expenditure budgets. Develop benchmarks across program areas. Develop and be responsible for weekly, monthly and campaign reporting. Manage budgets in accordance with strategy. Hold responsibility for the health of the unprompted continuing support line. Strategy Development and Implementation: Collaborate with the IT unit to develop the reports that are needed to monitor and analyse retention and LTV. Develop, test and implement retention and relationship strategies and plans to minimize attrition, increase life time value and build stronger bonds with donors based on market research and measurable key indicators. Through these plans ensure a focus on audience segmentations which ensure long term relationships with our donors that generate maximum lifetime value and retention. Understand and utilise data segmentation and data profiles to ensure the right message, goes to the right donor, via the right channel, at the right time. Develop and undertake market research as necessary. Donor Communication and Materials: Develop, design and test welcome and ongoing donor communications, including channel selection, copywriting, editing, design concepts, design process management, testing plans and rollout with key performance tracking. Determine who, what, when, and how to inspire and communicate with donors and potential donors. Identify, and cost effectively, meet their needs. Collaborate with telemarketing and digital team in planning and copywriting / translating donor and supporter communication Collaborate with acquisition programs in planning acquisition materials. Manage all printed donor communication for fundraising in Finland Manage contracts such as post contracts, print contracts and contracts with external agencies as agreed in the team and with line manager. Donor Marketing: Hold the responsibility for retention of donors in Finland. Lead, coordinate and budget hold donor marketing projects, for example appeals and renewals, in Nordic region to achieve timelines, income and expenditure budgets as well as other key performance measures.

3 Ensure good quality and timely mannered local implementation of fundraising projects led by other members of the Donor Relationships and Marketing team. Be active member of Donor Relationships and Marketing team by participating for planning, translations and implementation of fundraising projects within the team as requested by project leader. Brand Management: Monitor and deliver a consistent brand and positive solutions messages on all fundraising related materials reflecting our mission and values and in line with our International Guidelines. Public engagement: When needed represent the fundraising department on strategies associated with our digital donor and supporter base through e-communication, offline mass mobilization, petitions etc. Together with the communications and web teams ensure that Greenpeace donors are provided with consistent communications and opportunities to engage both offline and online. Innovation: Utilize innovative fundraising techniques to ensure deepening and more relevant relationships with donors. Other: Undertake any other duties, appropriate to the position, as delegated by the line manager. Up to 20% of your time may be spent outside the tasks described in this job description, as prescribed by your line manager. Description of Requirements Applied knowledge & skills Experience: 5 years successful track record in using a wide range of fundraising and marketing methods and activities Budget management skills Successful development and implementation of plans Minimum 3 years experience in managing high volume fundraising programs Knowledge of Data Analysis and Segmentation. Education: Bachelor s degree in Marketing, Business or other associated field and /or equivalent work experience.

4 Management qualities: Capacity to prepare and present fundraising strategy and reports Ability to support and guide colleagues, manage multiple projects, work to a timeline, work with sensitive information, work with minimal supervision, deal with stressful situations and meet deadlines. Language: Fluent in Finnish, Excellent English, Other Nordic languages an advantage. Communication: Ability to apply a range of communication and interpersonal skills to interact with others on a number of issues of varying complexity Ability to communicate effectively by demonstrating strong listening skills, and negotiation skills Ability to accurately identify problems and quickly move to a satisfactory resolution Ability to maintain accurate information management systems and procedures. Analysis & decision making: Makes decisions that impact on the delivery and quality of work in the program within a framework of operational, professional or creative guidelines Uses initiative and innovation to come up with recommendations or new working methods/ approaches in own area of work by interpreting information, concepts or data from diverse sources. Planning: Responsible for planning and prioritizing own workload Able to identify and implement short and long term fundraising goals related to program area. Responsibility for resources: Authorise expenditure of the allocated program budget, according to agreed objectives and in accordance with budget authority. Other: Cover for other team members in their absence, in order to ensure the team continues to implement ongoing work Participate in weekly office and other meetings in the department or all Nordic staff meetings Manage any volunteers or interns if applicable.
