DANKO EXPERIENCE VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY VILLANOVA SCHOOL OF BUSINESS THE HELEN AND WILLIAM O TOOLE DEAN VILLANOVA, PENNSYLVANIA 2005 PRESENT Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Villanova School of Business (VSB), ensuring that VSB achieves its goal of global recognition as a premier business school. Honored as the first recipient of the Helen and William O Toole Endowed Deanship at Villanova University. As the primary public spokesperson and development representative for the school, maintain positive momentum while emphasizing creativity and innovation by collaborating with VSB faculty and staff members, alumni, students, recruiters, and business and community leaders. Achievements since 2005 include the following. Implemented comprehensive improvements and external relationship efforts that have resulted in the advancement of VSB s profile, propelling VSB from an unranked business school to one that consistently places among the best in the US and the world according to Bloomberg Businessweek, the Financial Times, and the Aspen Institute. Led the establishment of a strategic vision for the school and the development and implementation of the school s strategic plan in close collaboration with all major stakeholder groups. Focused school-wide efforts on the comprehensive review and redesign of all degree program curricula at the undergraduate and graduate levels to provide students with high-quality, relevant educational experiences premised upon integrative and innovative approaches. Prioritized and enhanced development, fundraising, and alumni outreach efforts, resulting in significant increases in contributions, endowments, alumni involvement, and recruiting for the school and the university. Instituted comprehensive media relations efforts, advancing recognition of VSB faculty and yielding over 300 million VSB brand impressions annually. Significantly increased financial support for faculty research and teaching efforts, including the establishment of new research centers, endowed chair positions, teaching and research awards, and summer grants. Refined the VSB annual faculty evaluation system in partnership with the faculty to align the system with current research and teaching objectives more effectively. Conceptualized and established the Clay Center at VSB in partnership with administrative leaders and alumni donors. The center, a comprehensive studentservices department, now provides academic advising, professional development guidance and resources, counseling, and program services to hundreds of business students per week. Established a successful satellite location for the Villanova MBA in downtown Philadelphia, helping to drive a 40% increase in graduate program revenues. Expanded and reconstituted the Dean s Advisory Council, as well as other VSB advisory councils, to successfully engage a dynamic group of community and business leaders in the strategic planning and financial support of the school and the university.

2 DARTMOUTH COLLEGE TUCK SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ASSOCIATE DEAN, STRATEGY AND OPERATIONS; ASSOCIATE DEAN, EXECUTIVE EDUCATION HANOVER, NEW HAMPSHIRE Served as key strategic partner to Dean Paul Danos in the strategy and leadership of the business school. Provided direction for a wide range of critical departments including Executive Education, Career Services, Fiscal Services, Information Technology, Marketing and Public Relations, the MBA Program Office, Admissions and Financial Aid. Specific achievements include the following. Developed quality improvement and student satisfaction initiatives, marketing and public relations strategies, and a school-wide reorganization that resulted in a steady climb in all major business school rankings, including #1 placement in the Wall Street Journal. Led Executive Education activities, including the development of a custom-program strategy that significantly increased revenues and expanded corporate relationships. Expanded and enhanced minority business education programs in collaboration with state and federal government leaders and agencies, including the Minority Business Development Agency (a division of the SBA). BABSON COLLEGE FW OLIN GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ASSOCIATE DEAN; LECTURER IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP WELLESLEY, MASSACHUSETTS Provided overall leadership and direction for the graduate business school. Established and cultivated relationships with Babson s internal and external constituencies and served as liaison to the Corporate Advisory Board. Managed academic planning and policy setting, in conjunction with the dean of the School of Management. Taught New Ventures course. UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA KENAN-FLAGLER SCHOOL OF BUSINESS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE MBA PROGRAM; LECTURER, MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT CHAPEL HILL, NORTH CAROLINA Provided leadership of the MBA program, including admissions, student services, career services, strategic planning, budgeting, and marketing. Chaired the Curriculum 2000 Committee, charged with the strategic assessment of the MBA curriculum and the development of an updated curriculum. Taught Entrepreneurship courses in MBA program. UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON FOSTER SCHOOL OF BUSINESS DIRECTOR OF THE MBA PROGRAM SEATTLE, WASHINGTON Provided leadership of the MBA program, including marketing, admissions, student services, planning, operations, budgeting, and overall administration. Developed a strategic plan and performance measures for the program. Coordinated departmental efforts across the school, including those of Career Services and Alumni Relations. Page 2 of 6

3 UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN ROSS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS DIRECTOR OF EXECUTIVE SKILLS AND MAP PROGRAM; LECTURER, CORPORATE STRATEGY ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN Directed the business school s acclaimed Multidisciplinary Action Program (MAP), with responsibility for all external relationship-building activities and the recruitment of 60 corporate-sponsored, action-learning projects each year. Directed Executive Skills Program, including program design and development, identification of instructors, contract negotiation, and program delivery. Taught graduate and undergraduate Entrepreneurial Management courses. EXERCARE CORPORATION FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT CLEVELAND, OHIO Founded Exercare Corporation in 1973 as a medical equipment company, and developed it into a multimillion-dollar, multi-location enterprise over a 17-year period. Divisions of the company grew to include medical and rehabilitation equipment and supplies, fitness equipment, corporate fitness facility design, and a physical therapy center. Specific achievements include the following. Established and oversaw successful implementation of the long-range mission, vision, values, and growth strategy of the company. Led all aspects of Exercare, including strategic planning, finance, legal, human resources, operations, sales, marketing/branding, and customer care. Developed strong, enduring relationships with key corporate customers, medical centers, and physicians, which led to Exercare s market leadership in fitness and rehabilitation equipment sales. Defined and established all new divisions of the company during expansion. Planned opening of new locations, including site analysis, lease negotiations, and store design. Recruited, mentored, and managed staff; built a team of high-performing executives; implemented innovative professional development and employee incentive programs. Led the development of Exercare into an organization that supported and benefitted members of the Cleveland community through philanthropic activities. Negotiated employee, supplier, and building contracts; negotiated the successful sale of Exercare to a group of investors. Page 3 of 6
