2 RLSSA Level 1 Pool Lifesaving Coach Accreditation involves: Prior to the course Completion of the Australian Sports Commission Beginning Coaching General Principles Completion of the ASADA Level 1 Anti-Doping Course Completion of the Play By The Rules Child Protection, Harassment and Discrimination Note: You will need to provide copies of your completion certificates with you to the course. During the course Attendance at a Level 1 Pool Lifesaving Coaches Course presentation Completion of Coaches Code of Conduct After the course Completion of the Level 1 Pool Lifesaving Coach Learner Guide activities within one month (4 weeks) of the course date. Completion of practical coaching assessment Recognition of Prior Learning: You may already have some or all of the skills or knowledge required for this training program. If this is the case, you may not have to undertake additional training in these areas. Requests for Recognition of Prior Learning exemptions should be submitted on the appropriate RPL form which may be obtained from the RLSSA Senior Project Officer Ben Cuttriss bcuttriss@rlssa.org.au. All applications will be considered but may not be approved. If RPL is awarded, RLSSA requires Handbook activities and Practical skills assessment to be completed to gain Level 1 Pool Lifesaving Coach Accreditation.
