Course Outline BSB40407 Certificate IV in Small Business PROGRAM INFORMATION This course is designed to assist sports administrators, managers and athletes to develop a powerful and relevant business acumen that will provide positive results in the management of sports and also for those athletes looking to manage their career during and post their time as an athlete. This program offers opportunities to: Increase your level of personal empowerment and resilience Share innovative and practical strategies for your business growth One-on-one coaching between workshops Explore content and assessments designed around your current role Complete assessments based on creating solutions to a business dilemma or the implementation of a Business Improvement Project Experiential learning to design innovative leadership opportunities to promote personal and business success Work alongside other high achieving individuals Create practical solutions to business challenges for small business PROGRAM FEE Standard Course Fee: $5, for the qualification, or $ per unit. The volume of learning for this program includes 153 class time hours, plus self-paced learning and assessment tasks. A number of blended learning activities may be utilised to assist with course work. This may include, but not limited to, workplace visits, as may be relevant, meetings, webinars, and one on one tuition. The course structure will be confirmed for each participant with their own personal training plan. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Recognition of Prior Learning is available at a cost of 50% of the course price. This includes a non-refundable application fee of $250.00, which is part of the course fee. It is not additional to the course fee. This RPL fee is for the RPL process only. 5 B. Qualification Overview The BSB40407 Certificate IV in Small Business is a nationally accredited qualification. This qualification has been designed to assist those in small business such as owners and managers and/or small business roles, or for those wishing to commence a small business, to develop a powerful and relevant business expertise to achieve desired outcomes. The course offers opportunities to Increase personal empowerment and resilience through the development of business planning including the relevant factors of marketing, financial planning, financial accounts, and networking. The opportunity of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for each course participant where they may already possess relevant experience in a range of settings, assuming that these skills are not already formally recognised. 6 C. Course Application Process The following provides a step-by-step approach to the course application process 1. Attend an Information Session or request this to be held at your office. This step is optional. 2. Obtain a copy of Pre Enrolment Information. 3. Complete the application form pages 1 to 4 inclusive as required for assessment of eligibility for funding. 4. Once eligibility or otherwise is confirmed, potential students are provided with this information. This includes the cost of the qualification and payment plan as may be relevant. 5. If the potential student wishes to proceed from this point, they are to fully complete and sign page 5 of the application form and return this to Blended Learning International as per the methods of return on this form. [Note that Blended Learning already has pages 1 to 4]. 6. Upon receipt, Blended Learning International will then provide the potential student with a letter of offer and invoice. 7. To accept the offer of course placement, the potential student is to complete the required documentation and make the required payment. This does include formally signing to accept the offer of placement on the course. Once this is completed course enrolment is confirmed. 8. Once Step 7 is completed, each student will commence with a one-on-one RPL session. The time of this session to be mutually agreed. 9. Upon completion of this RPL session, students will be provided with their own personal training plan. 7 E. Smart and Skilled Funding This training is subsidised by the NSW Government Are you eligible for Smart and Skilled training? Check your eligibility Are you: 15 years old or over? no longer at school? living or working in NSW? an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian permanent humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen? If you answered Yes' to all four questions, then you're eligible to enrol in a governmentsubsidised course with an approved Smart and Skilled training provider. Types of courses you're eligible for Your eligibility for a government-subsidised Smart and Skilled course depends on your previous qualifications: If you haven't completed a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification, you're entitled to enrol in a subsidised course up to Certificate III. You can enrol in subsidised training at Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level, depending on the availability of funding for these courses. Having completed a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification does not affect eligibility. Other eligibility conditions Your eligibility is not affected if you have completed a vocational education and training (VET) course, including a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship, as part of your high school education. There are also some exceptions to the eligibility conditions described above, such as for Aboriginal people who live in specific, defined areas outside the NSW border. Eligibility for apprentices and trainees NSW apprentices and some new-entrant trainees may be eligible for a government subsidy for the training that supports their apprenticeship or traineeship.
