2 BSB30415 Certificate III in Business Administration We offer the Certificate III in Business Administration as an online course. Students have access to a variety of learning materials including YouTube Videos, Links, Files, Learning Guides, interactive crosswords and quizzes, forums, journals and support. To achieve this course, 13 units must be successfully completed, 2 Core units, and 11 Elective units. Core Units BSBITU307 Develop keyboarding speed and accuracy This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop keyboard skills with speed and accuracy using touch-typing techniques. It applies to individuals who work in a range of environments and are required to enter text and data with speed and accuracy. They may work as individuals who provide administrative support within an enterprise, or may be technical/knowledge experts responsible for production of their own word processed documents. BSBWHS201 Contribute to health and safety of self and others This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work in a manner that is healthy and safe in relation to self and others and to respond to emergency incidents. It covers following work health and safety (WHS) and emergency procedures and instructions, implementing WHS requirements and participating in WHS consultative processes. Prerequisite Unit(s) Suggested Elective Units BSBADM307 Organise schedules This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage appointments and diaries for personnel within an organisation, using manual and electronic diaries, schedules and other appointment systems. BSBFIA302 Process payroll This unit describes skills and knowledge required to process payroll from provided data using manual and computerised payroll systems. It applies to individuals employed in a range of work environments who are responsible for payroll functions within an organisation. They may work as individuals providing administrative support within an enterprise, or may be other members of staff who have been delegated payroll responsibilities. BSBITU302 Create electronic presentations This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to design and produce electronic presentations for speakers, for self access and online access. BSBITU304 Produce spreadsheets This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to develop spreadsheets through the use of spreadsheet software. BSBITU306 Design and produce business documents This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to design and produce various business documents and publications. It includes selecting and using a range of functions on a variety of computer applications Prerequisite Unit(s)

3 BSBWRT301 Write simple documents This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan, draft and review a basic document before writing the final version. BSBITU309 Produce desktop published documents This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to design and produce desktop published documents. It applies to individuals who work in a range of environments, which may include providing administrative support within an enterprise, or who may be technical or knowledge experts responsible for production of their own documents. BSBITU301 Create and use databases This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to create simple two-table relational databases with reports and queries, for storage and retrieval of information. It applies to individuals that may provide administrative support within an enterprise, or may be independently responsible for storage and retrieval of data relating to their own work roles. BSBCMM301 Process customer complaints This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to handle formal and informal negative feedback and complaints from customers. Operators may exercise discretion and judgment using appropriate knowledge of products, customer service systems and organizational policies to provide technical advice and support to a team. BSBDIV301 Work effectively with diversity This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognize and interact productively with diversity in the workplace. It covers sensitive responses to, and interactions with, all manner of diversity that might be encountered during the course of work. BSBCUS301 Deliver and monitor a service to customers This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to identify customer needs and monitor service provided to customers. Operators may exercise discretion and judgment using appropriate theoretical knowledge of customer service to provide technical advice and support to customers over either a short or long term interaction. Delivery Methods Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Online learning Self Paced Traineeship* / Onsite Workshop Delivery (* Eligibility requirements apply) by arrangement only Description This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply a broad range of administrative competencies in varied work contexts, using some discretion and judgement. They may provide technical advice and support to a team. Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include: Accounts Receivable Clerk Accounts Payable Clerk Clerk Data Entry Operator Junior Personal Assistant Receptionist Office Administration Assistant Office Administrator Word Processing Operator

4 Prerequisite Requirements There are no prerequisites for entry to this qualification. Training Course Outcomes Candidates successfully completing the course will receive a Certificate III in Business Administration.Candidates who partially complete the course will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units of competency that they have successfully completed. Duration Distance Self Paced / Onsite Workshop Delivery Learners have up to 12 months to complete this qualification. An extension for up to 3 months can be purchased should further time be required to complete the qualification. Traineeship* The program is delivered over a maximum period of 24 months (full-time), or 48 months (part-time) as a traineeship. Workforce Training & Development recommends an average time of 12 months for the training of this qualification. Delivery Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course. Distance Self Paced (Online Course) The training program is delivered via online self-paced learning. Candidates are guided through the program with the assistance self-paced learning materials, and support from an instructor from Workforce Training & Development. Traineeship* / Onsite Workshop Delivery The training program can be delivered via work place based learning and/or onsite workshop delivery by arrangement. Candidates are guided through the program with the assistance of an instructor from Workforce Training & Development and the workplace supervisor. Workforce Training & Development will make regular contact with Trainees and the workplace supervisor as agreed with the employer and the candidate. It is a requirement of the program that all Trainees are to be withdrawn from routine work duties for a minimum of 3 hours per week averaged over four week cycle, for the purpose of structured training. Assessment Assessment is used to provide candidates with feedback on their progress and to measure their skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and those of the industry. Assessment of competency is through the collection of a range of evidence. Candidates will be required to complete a range of assessment activities including written assessments, oral questioning, workplace observations, case studies and third party reports. The assessment process may require some time away from the workplace to complete assignments and self-directed exercises.

5 Qualification Pathways Pathways into the qualification Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include: BSB20115 Certificate II in Business or other relevant qualification/s OR with vocational experience assisting in a range of support roles without a formal business qualification.
