1 J O B D E S C R I P T I O N SHAREPOINT DEVELOPER/LEAD Location: Directorate: Reports to: Grade: Canary Wharf Customer Services & Resources Applications Business Partner C JOB PURPOSE The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination, planning and supervision of all activities relating to the Organisation s SharePoint platform, including small/medium project deployments, implementations of changes and 3 rd line support. The position requires an experienced and skilled Microsoft SharePoint Developer/Lead comfortable with all aspects of the software development life-cycle. The Job holder would be expected to deliver projects independently or leading a small development team. In addition the successful candidate will be an experienced technical trouble-shooter who can diagnose and resolve 2/3 rd line support issues. As part of a small IT team, the job holder will also be expected to perform other general roles as appropriate, (e.g. emergency cover, major system roll outs, etc.) MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Act as the lead for SharePoint 2013, systems integration (EAI / API / web services) and business / IT development projects. 2. Lead the development capability to provide the company with fast and efficient software development services and manage the pipeline of SharePoint work.

2 3. Lead/Provide input into architectural decisions on SharePoint platform improvements and streamlining 4. Engage and work closely with business functions to understand their business requirements and translate into feasible solutions delivered via SharePoint. 5. Provide project scope requirements and develop Level of Effort (LOE) estimates for assigned work. 6. Design and develop bespoke applications, Site Templates, Master Pages, Style Libraries and Web Part libraries. Create apps for business systems to be used in SharePoint 7. Continue the development and implementation of a new global document management system in SharePoint 8. Devise and implement information lifecycle and search policies in SharePoint 9. Create a business performance / KPI dashboard in SharePoint with automated updates from relevant business systems 10. Engage with communication department to continue building a scalable corporate intranet and customer portal solution based on SharePoint Develop and document new applications, systems integration and other solutions and support the existing.net applications. 12. Configure and administer SharePoint 2013 services, infrastructures and accounts as required. 13. In addition the successful candidate will be an experienced technical trouble-shooter who can diagnose and resolve 2/3 rd line support issues. 14. As part of a small IT team, the job holder will also be expected to perform other general roles as appropriate, (e.g. emergency cover, major system roll outs, etc.) SUCCESS MEASURES SharePoint Projects delivered on time, on budget and meet the user s business requirements; Assist in driving the architectural decision-making process by articulating options and implications, ensuring the architecture is appropriate, flexible and robust.

3 Generate ideas for innovative use of new applications All policies regarding the security, governance and data protection for IT systems are adhered to in the creation of new applications; Development work documented to a standard that allows other developers within the team to be able to support/troubleshoot the application or system where necessary; Quality of ideas and advice in line with best practice and professional industry standards Delivery of a stable resilient SharePoint Environment KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS FOR THIS JOB 1. 5 TERMS AND CONDITIONS Salary The salary for this role is circa 42, 000 p.a. Salaries are normally reviewed in June of each year, or the subsequent June should you start after 1 March. Hours The weekly hours are 35, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm. Holidays Holiday entitlement for this post is 30 days, plus all Bank Holidays. Pension As a non-contractual benefit, you will be eligible to join the NHS pension Scheme after completion of 3 months service. (The GPhC reserves the right to withdraw this pension plan, and its terms may alter).
