EMPLOYMENT HISTORY Action for Blind People Database Developer September 2012 to April 7 th 2013 Contract role as sole database resource on new CRM application project. Duties included: Designing and developing SSIS packages to transfer data from the legacy CRM system into the new application being developed. This included importing data from the legacy database, spreadsheets, CSV files and XML files to create a repeatable process to populate data into the new system. Database development for the new ASP.NET 4 application using a MS Database Project (Visual Studio 2010) and Team Foundation Server as source control and main deployment tool. This included designing and developing tables, indexes, views, functions and stored procedures for the new SQL Server 2008 R2 database, as well as performance tuning, capacity planning and troubleshooting application and database bugs during the development cycle. Designing and implementing database security including object-level permissions for the user, encryption of database connections using a certificate and configuration of Transparent Database Encryption. As well as creating scripts to implement the actual database moves as efficiently as possible, this included planning for capacity, monitoring performance on the new server and tracking and resolving compatibility issues. Resolving all technical issues related to the database migration project including troubleshooting database security, application integration, infrastructure, and website data connectivity issues. Nursing and Midwifery Council Database Administrator/Developer February 2010 to March 2012 Contract role providing database services both as sole DBA and as developer. Duties included: Database administration for all Production, Test and Development database servers in the enterprise. This included bringing all SQL Servers into uniform maintenance and monitoring plans. Assisting in transitioning the DBA function into outsourced support by providing a full audit of the SQL estate.
