COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER - WEST NOVEMBER 2015 special tribute! Dear Residents, Families and Friends: On Wednesday, November 11th we will gather in our living room at 10:30am to honor all Veterans. Please join us for this I got my flu shot, have you? Protect yourself with a flu shot at our flu shot clinic on Thursday, November 12th. Please contact the front desk for details. Thanksgiving is no ordinary holiday. It is a time to reflect on one s good fortunes. It is a time to greet family and friends. It is a time to spread the message of love and say thank you! Thank you for being who you are and being part of our Vintage Newport family. In celebration of Thanksgiving, please join us on Thursday, November 26th as we feast on turkey, pie and cranberry sauce. Together, we will enjoy a traditional family luncheon at noon with all the trimmings. If you or loved one are planning to join us please RSVP by November 15th. Timothy Niles Tew Tim was born in Orange, Ca. and raised in Laguna Beach. He enlisted in the army in Northern California and was stationed at Fort Ord. He was then deployed to Germany. He met his wife Janice when he was in his early twenties and married at 31 years of age. They resided in Dana Point and had one son. He and his son had a lot of fun fixing and riding dirt bikes at Dessert Hot Springs and Accatillo. Tim had an original 1964 Mustang and would spend hours in the garage with his tools fixing and rebuilding the engine. He is an avid football and baseball fan and enjoys catching all the games on television. Tim enjoyed target practice with his friends and would often go to the desert. Tim was a meat cutter with Alpha Beta for over 25 years. He transferred to Ralphs where he worked until his retirement in April of 2011. He was very conscientious, always making positive contributions to his department. He is a very caring and sensitive individual, with a great sense of humor. Tim s favorite food is burgers at In and Out burgers. He doesn t mind waiting in long lines and always enjoys the opportunity to go out with his friends. She moved to the U.S. when she was 30 years of age. She is the youngest of her siblings with two brothers and one sister. She and her husband have four children and two grandchildren. Her experience as a cook originated in a Japanese restaurant where she became very well versed in the Japanese cuisine. She attended culinary school and later worked as a sky chef at the Orange County Airport. Miriam is also a licensed hairdresser. Her favorite pastime is playing with her grandchildren She also enjoys traveling to Chicago, Iowa and El Salvador to visit her family whenever she can. Congratulations on being our Associate of the Month. Thank you for going Above and Beyond! Please join us as we pay tribute to our Veterans!
