Aubrey and I are doing great, and I can t wait to get back to having fun with all my Dimensions girls! I ve been hearing great things about all our summer socials so far, so I know you are all having a blast. During the summer months when school is out, JWC also takes a little downtime, but that doesn t stop our girls from getting together and having a great time! It doesn t stop our dedicated officers from working on our upcoming year either! The following newsletter is designed to give all our members a little insight as to what our department has been up to this summer and keep all of you in the loop. 2 Membership Update DI Ladies!! I am excited to announce that we have 16 new additions to our wonderful department. I have some new ideas and plans in progress for the fall to help us all become better acquainted with new faces and one another! There are many fun programs and events planned for the upcoming year and still more to enjoy this summer. If you see a new face, don t be shy, introduce yourself we are here to meet and greet. She likes to read, watch TV and movies, and hang out with her friends. She also enjoys traveling and cooking. Give her a shout at r.l.swaim@gmail.com Cassandra Borek Cassandra is from Philadelphia, but moved to Texas 4 years ago in order to live closer to her sister, nieces, and nephews. She is the youngest of 4 siblings, and is currently single. She enjoys all sports, but her passion is horseback riding. Cassandra is a Vascular Sonographer in Dallas and loves to travel. She s now a high school English teacher and cheerleading coach. Monica has lived in Fort Worth for almost 2 years, and enjoys traveling, golf, tennis, concerts, staying active, and patio-sitting with friends. Give her a shout at monicalopez81@gmail.com Sidnie Smith Sidnie graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Exercise Physiology. She is now a Cardiopulmonary Technician for a heart and lung diagnostic company, and joined JWC in May. 3 Niki Wyatt Niki is a graduate of TCU with a BA in English. Lately she has been substitute teaching and tutoring for Birdville ISD. She hopes to start her Masters in Education and have a fulltime teaching position this year. Niki is engaged to Greg Lacy (brother of JWC member Jennifer Lacy) but they haven t set a wedding date yet. Her favorite things to do include reading, outdoor sports like running and tennis, visiting wineries, and curling up on the couch watching TV with Greg and her puppies. She is currently an elementary school teacher for Fort Worth ISD. Caroline grew up in Houston and moved to Fort Worth a year ago. She enjoys going to happy hour, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Give her a shout at carolinercohen@gmail.com Kiersten Thompson Kiersten is Controller for a Private Equity Firm. She is married to Buck and has two children, Nick and Claire. Originally from Houston, she stayed in Fort Worth after receiving her Bachelors and Masters degrees from TCU. Jessica Rozman Jessica has been married for almost 2 years and has recently moved to Fort Worth. She earned her BS in Finance from Auburn University and her MBA from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is currently a Financial Analyst and enjoys traveling, cooking, and crafts. Give her a shout at jessica.rozman@gmail.com. Whitney Howell Whitney graduated from The University of North Texas in 2006, and started her career as an interior designer. In August 2009, she married Robert Howell. She s currently a Stylist for Stella & Dot jewelry, and she has a space in Spoiled Pink on Vickery where she sells hand painted furniture & accessories. 4 Tiffany Smith Tiffany is originally from San Antonio. An Alum of Texas Tech and Wayland Baptist University, she s currently the Sales Account Manager for the DFW Airport Marriott South. She s actively involved in the community both in a volunteer capacity and through work.she serves as a member of the Junior League and the Hotel Association of Tarrant County. Give her a shout at tiffanyannsmith2000@yahoo.com. Jennifer Black Jennifer left Texas for Harvard Grad School 11 years ago and moved back last year to be closer to her 3 year old nephew. She just accepted a position as a sales account manager for a staffing company in Dallas and is looking forward to the excitement of a new job! Jill Reinders Jill is looking forward to meeting new friends and creating memories in Dimensions! She works in F-35 International Production at Lockheed Martin. She graduated from Texas Tech and received her MBA from SMU. She lives in North Fort Worth, and really loves all the new shops and restaurants in the new Alliance Town Center. She attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate degree and Tulane Law School. She moved to Fort Worth six years ago for a temporary job and loved the city so much that she stayed permanently. 5 Ladies of Dimensions- Summer Socials Recap Can you believe it is already August!?! Where has the summer gone? If you attended any of the socials thus far, you ll agree we are already having a ton of fun. Our first social in June was the Kick Off the Summer Pool Party at my house. We had a great turn out and everyone had a lot of fun in the sun! And those piña coladas were oh so delicious, yummy! Next we headed out to the Central Market Patio for Thursday Night Live. It was an exciting night with friends listening to live music. For those of you who haven t had a chance to check out Central Market on a Thursday or Friday night, I highly recommend going before the summer is over. In July we met on the patio at Jake s Hamburgers on Camp Bowie for Girls Night Out Happy Hour. We had a lot of new members come out what a great group of girls! I can t wait to get to know each and every one of you. It was great catching up with friends. We also have several fun socials coming up in August. Saturday, August 14 th is Totally 80s Night. We are meeting at the Residence Inn Cultural District at 6:30 pm for the pre-party (BYOB). Then we ll head downtown to 8.0 Bar to see Space Rockers, a Texas cover band playing hits from the 80s, 90s and beyond. Let's get all dolled up and have a fun night out with the girls. You ll definitely need to relax after a night of rockin good times at the 80s Night, so don t miss out on Girls Night Out Spa Party on Wednesday, August 25 th at Hollywood Nails & Spa. We ll meet at 5:30 pm for manicures, pedicures or facials too. Then we will go out to dinner after. Spa treatment and dinner are at your own expense. Please RSVP to the JWC Website for both of these events! Finally, don t be a stranger! If you are a new member of Dimensions and feel nervous about showing up alone, come anyway! Or me and let s go together katherinedell@gmail.com. I encourage everyone to try to attend as many department and club-wide events as possible. These socials are a great way to get to know people and get involved. And then you won t be a stranger when the club year kicks off in September. Don t hesitate to call or me with any questions. I m here to make sure everyone feels included and gets to know one another. I work downtown and am always up for going out to lunch. If you re in the area and would like to grab a bite to eat, just let me know. I can t wait to get to know all of you and I m looking forward to an awesome year in JWC and Dimensions!
