The study programme begins with the third year of the Bachelor s Degree in Sport Management and is to be followed by the Master s Degree in Sport Management and Marketing. The goal is to train professionals who will be able to deal with, manage and develop activities in the fields of wellness and sports leisure in the hospitality and tourism sectors. This Master s Degree was created thanks to a partnership between the Department of Sport Sciences at the University of Strasbourg and the Hotel and Catering School Alexandre Dumas. The European Resort and Wellness Manager Master s degree aims at training students who will then work as managers in establishments such as: > Spa resorts > Outdoor campsites, holiday resorts and day camps/leisure centers > Old people s homes, thalassotherapy and spa centers

Syllabus The study programme begins with the third year of the Bachelor s Degree in Sports Management and is composed of mandatory courses and specific workshops, as well as the analysis of case studies related to Resort Management. Work placement (between two and four months) is compulsory and has to be done in the hospitality industry. After graduating from the Bachelor s Degree specializing in European Resort and Wellness Management, students follow the courses of the Master s Degree, which include 178 teaching hours dedicated to their specialty. Case studies will be analyzed and two six-month work placements in the hospitality industry will be compulsory. Application procedure It is possible to start studying in this specialized curriculum at the beginning of the third year in BA, in M1 or in M2. HOW TO GET IN L3 SPORT MANAGEMENT To apply you need to: > Either have passed the second year of the BA STAPS (in Strasbourg or elsewhere) > Or have graduated from a two-year degree (Foundation degree, for example) and fill in an application form which will be examined by a jury > Or have a relevant work experience equivalent in terms of required qualifications (an application will have to be submitted to the Validation des Acquis Professionnels et Personnels Office) Application is to be submitted on the Aria internet platform: http://aria.u-strasbg.fr/uds/index.php Download an application form and send it enclosing the required documents as mentioned on the website. A jury will meet at the end of June/beginning of July to assess each application. The internet platform may close at the end of May. HOW TO ENTER IN M1 SPORT MANAGEMENT, EUROPEAN RESORT & WELLNESS MANAGER To apply you need to: have graduated from a Sport Management Bachelor s Degree (or equivalent). Your application must include a detailed CV (make sure you mention your professional experience, your level of English and your computer skills) and copies of your diplomas, an academic transcript of the marks you obtained during the third year of the BA, a cover letter addressed to the director of the Master s Degree. The students graduated from the BA specialized in Sport Management, European Resort and Wellness Manager are accepted first. Continuing education: admission based on application file (either a professionalizing contract, a DIF or a CIF) Application forms: are available from May till mid- June. The application process ends at the end of June (the schedule must be checked on the following website f3s.unistra.fr) Admission procedure: a jury composed of the director of the Master s Degree, teachers and professionals assess the applications, then interview the most suitable applicants (Possibility of a reserve list). HOW TO ENTER IN M2 SPORT MANAGEMENT, EUROPEAN RESORT & WELLNESS MANAGER To apply you need to: the students who got an average of 10 or more at the end of the first year of the M1 specialized in Sport Management, European Resort and Wellness Manager are allowed to apply to the M2 without filling in an application. Those who failed to get an average of 10/20 may be allowed to repeat the M1. Students from another M1 or who graduated from an equivalent diploma validated by the jury, will be selected according to the vacancies. Your application must include a detailed CV (make sure you mention your interest and skills related to sports), copies of your diplomas, an academic transcript of the marks you obtained during the first year of the Master s Degree, a summary of the essay written at the end of the M1 and a cover letter addressed to the director of the Master s Degree mentioning your motivation and your professional prospects. Continuing education: admission is based on application file (either a professionalizing contract, a DIF or a CIF) Application forms: available from May till mid-june, and the application process ends at the end of June (the schedule must be checked on the following website f3s.unistra.fr) Admission procedure: a jury led by the director of the Master s Degree and composed of teachers and professionals will submit the list of the most suitable candidates to the Dean.
