1 The Swiss Education Group (SEG) Scholarship Scheme 2016/2017 Introduction The SEG Scholarship Scheme was newly established in Year This scholarship scheme is to encourage students who are passionate in hospitality industry to pursue their studies in Switzerland, the birthplace of hospitality. SEG keeps staying true to the traditions of Swiss hospitality management, all programmes of the Swiss Education Group combine academic learning with internship experience which are designed to meet the needs of hospitality employers. SEG will offer an average of three scholarships annually for the student to undertake master programmes or postgraduate programmes in the member universities of Swiss Education Group 1. The applicants should apply directly through their SEG Hong Kong office. Successful applicants should show strong enthusiasm and good interpersonal skill. They are expected to share the study life in Switzerland and the career life. Duration of Scholarships Each Scholarship will be offered in one-off basis. Value of Scholarships The value of scholarships is up to CHF10,000 Eligibility The Scholarship Scheme shall be awarded to the applicants who are either Hong Kong residents or studying in the tertiary institutes in Hong Kong. The assessment of eligibility will be based on the following: Bachelor degree holder in recognized university in any discipline Proficiency in English languages (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent) Passionate in hospitality industry Strong communication skills Fulfill the entrance requirement of the programme offered by SEG member universities 1 SEG Member universities includes SHMS, Cesar Ritz, HIM, IHTTI, CAA

2 Selection Procedure Notices giving details of the conditions of award, selection criteria, nomination procedures of the Scholarships will be published in October 2015 in our SEG website. A selection panel comprising Directors of SEG and Academic & Admissions Department members will be set up to interview the applicants. There will be two application sections, at least one scholarship will be offered in each section. First Section: - Application deadline [30 Nov 2015] - Selection interview [Mid of Dec2015] - Result release [31 Jan 2016] Second Section - Application deadline [28 Feb 2016] - Selection interview [End of Mar 2016] - Result release [30 Apr 2016] The selection criteria are as follows : 1. Good academic performance achieved and/or demonstrable record and references on their talents; 2. Proficiency in English ; 3. Demonstrable outstanding personal qualities and leadership; and 4. Statement written by candidates Each applicant should submit the following documents to scholarship@swisseducation.com.hk : 1. university academic record / other public examinations certificate 2. relevant document and references in support of his / her outstanding personal quality and leadership; 3. a completed scholarship application form 4. Motivation essay of not more than 500 words in English on: Explain the reasons why you would like to choose hospitality management programme in Switzerland 5. Resume / CV Candidates are required to attend face-to-face selection interview(s) in person.

3 Payment of Scholarships The amount of scholarship will be paid directly for the first year tuition fee of the programme which should be started on either Fall 2016 or Spring Other Conditions of Scholarships Each Scholarship recipient is required to attend functions such as the presentation ceremony, seminar or alumni activities to be organised by SEG, as well as to share the study life and the work life. They are expected to join the SEG Alumni Association, and to share the study life in Switzerland and also the work life. Revision and Amendments All conditions stated above may be revised, amended and updated.
