2014 Nursing Leadership Institute Programs Audience New and emerging front-line nursing managers and experienced managers who want a refreshed perspective. Program Kick-off Packet After registration you will receive your program kick-off packet electronically in mid January 2014. The 2014 Nursing Leadership Institute fulfills accreditation requirements for manager education, as it is based on the AONE Competencies for Nurse Administrators, provides knowledge and tools for provision of a magnet workplace environment, incorporates management and leadership approaches consistent with the Baldrige framework for quality and addresses the Institute of Medicine s six criteria for provision of care that assures patient safety. Outcomes of the Institute include the development of skills for: BENEFITS OF THE PROGRAM providing leadership and establishing unit culture that promotes evidence-based practice for patient safety, clinical quality and a satisfying experience for every patient every time creation of a continuously improving patient care environment for quality, safety, patient experience and cost through the use of data, project management tools, successful change management and high performing work teams successful recruitment and retention of staff including selection, onboarding, integration into the profession and unit team beyond the first year, ongoing performance management and professional development use of relationship competencies and effective communication skills to enhance staff satisfaction within nursing, effective nurse-physician communication and across health care disciplines application of financial management skills incorporating knowledge of the business case for patient safety, clinical quality and staff and patient satisfaction Program Dates There will be three sets of two onsite workshops for each program from 8:00am to 4:15pm.
