ASSET MANAGER: MEDIA BANK PROCESS DOCUMENT 1) INTRODUCTION a) Login page You will have received a login and password for Media Bank in your emails, please enter here at the login page: bank.mediabounty.com. Click Login. b) Home page When you log in, you reach the Media Bank home page. This will be where you find your video assets. Navigation Pane Here you have options to return home (this page), to search and for help documents/contact. 2
Search bar You can type here to search for videos. Folder Structure These are the folders containing your videos, which are organized in Customer, Marketing, Professional, Scientific Affairs and Shopper. Clicking inside these folders reveals the projects related to each title. View Configuration Here you can adjust the viewing format of your home page, i.e. enlarging thumbnails, re- arranging order and view style. c) Folder Structure When you click into a folder (in the example above, you can see Marketing), you are then presented with different projects. From here you can click into a project to drill down further. The above image shows an example of drilling down into Colgate Invisible Nasties. From here you can see the four films created for this project. The circled are in the above image shows your journey, in case you want to take note of which folders you clicked on to get to where you are. 3
Drilling down further shows you more options. For example, clicking on New Fears Eve, gives you the three versions of the same video. New Fears Eve [HD 1080] is the largest downloadable video, and can be used for things such as on a large screen. New Fears Eve [HD 720] is a smaller downloadable video, which can be used to view on laptops and computer screens. New Fears Eve [SD 380] is the smallest version, to watch on your mobile device, or to share internally and view for information. d) Video Page When you select a video size, you are presented with a streamable video, and more information with regards to usage rights. This is in the Video Data section on the right hand side of the screen. Everything in red is clickable 4
content. If, for example, you select Marketing, the system will search and then present you all films owned in this sector. Below the streamable video, you will find more information on the video, such as duration, the location path and so on. Here are a few buttons, which you will probably be using a lot. If, instead of simply streaming the video (it streams in its entirety), you would like to share it, you have two usable buttons here. The button Share and the yellow plus sign both add the video to your Lightbox (this will be discussed further in the next chapter). The button that looks like a screen shows the videos (all three sizes) in slideshow form. You also have the option to download the video in the size selected onto your desktop. 5
2) LIGHTBOX a) Lightbox Properties The lightbox is somewhere for you to group videos together and share as a collection, or singularly. Your lightbox is situated on the left hand side of your screen, on all pages of Media Bank. If you click the arrow on your lightbox, it gives you a few options. - New Lightbox: You can have more than one lightbox, to share with different people. - Share: This will take you to the page for sharing the contents of your lightbox. - Edit: Rename your lightbox. - Empty: Remove all items from your lightbox. - Your Lighboxes: You can have more than one, and they will all be listed here. If you open your lightbox, you will find more options on what to do with the videos you have collected. Note: You can only add videos to the lightbox, not folders. Make sure you re n a video when adding or you may receive an error message. 6
b) Using the Lightbox When you select Open Lightbox, your asset manager will take you to your lightbox page, which will give you a few options on what to do with these videos. You can either collect them into your lightbox so you can view them all yourself, or you can share this collection with others. Selecting Add people will then give you an option of all email addresses of people who have access to Media Bank. You can add their address, add a note and send the videos. These videos will be viewed via a link to your lightbox. You can create more than one lightbox, and send them to different users at one time, by selecting your lightbox name. Once you have shared the lightbox with someone, you can then have a conversation with them in the conversation box. This is an easy and interactive way to discuss projects without the long tedium of contacting people via various mediums. 7
3) SEARCH FUNCTION There are two areas within Media Bank where you can search for videos. There s the search bar on the top right hand of the screen, and the Search tab on the navigation pane, which we explored in Chapter 1. a) Search tab Navigation Pane Once you select Search in the navigation pane, it takes you to a search bar window, where you can type in the words you are looking for and even select whether you want to system to find the exact words, or something similar. 8
If you select Advanced Search you will get options to make your search more specific. Selecting a certain brand for example, will search solely within that brand. You can make it more specific, by adding another condition for the software to search within. b) Search bar Home Page On the top right corner of every page, you will see a search bar, which give you the ability to do a quick search. With this option, you still have the ability to search exact matches to the words you enter. When you type in what you re looking for and hit enter, or select search, you ll be taken to a new window of your search results. This new search window gives you the option to create an advanced search if what you originally asked for has brought up too many results. The above example shows a search for Nasties. It has found all the Nasties videos but not specifically New Fears Eve. On the right hand side, on the Refine Search section, you can filter your search further in order to get a specific video. 9
On the above image, you can see New Years Eve has been searched, which is an error, as it is called New FEARS Eve. Nonetheless, as an option for exact words has not been selected, the software will search for the words new and eve within Nasties, giving you exactly what you want. 4) Video Page a) Video Data When you find the videos you are looking for, you will see some information on the right hand side under the Video Data section. This area presents you with all information you need on the video. You will see some information in red, whether it s in a red box, or in red writing. These options are searchable text. This means that if you are searching for a video, as well as it s title, the software will search for the red information also. These sections are also instant searches. If you click on, for example, Marketing, you will then be presented with all videos attached to this sector. This applies to the territory, duration and method of exploitation, keywords, department, brand and owner. 10
b) Downloading If you ve found the video you want, and don t just want to stream it, but want to download it onto your desktop you can select to download. Once you do this, you will get a few options. Select the box to say you agree to the terms and conditions and select Accept. You will then be taken to a screen where your Asset Manager prepares your download. Select Collect Download and it will begin to download the video onto your computer. You will find it in the Downloads section on your desktop. 11
