Program Description: This course is designed to meet the training needs of those individuals who plan to seek employment in the auto mechanics trades. This course is organized to provide theoretical and hands-on experience. X. Unit Goal: This course is designed to let the student explore several opportunities for a career in the automotive industry. The student will be introduced to shop and personal safety, as well as how to properly and safely use the tools and equipment of the automotive field. Next the student will be introduced to basic automotive electricity. This course introduces the student to the principles, theories, and concepts of the automotive electrical system. All of the automotive program classes will consist of both classroom work and hands on experience in the lab. This course includes ADXS 125-ADXS126 and may transfer directly to any of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and/or other post-secondary institutions. O-NET code 5052. 5
