Introducing Intract Hire Our highly trained Indigenous workforce specialises in remote area equipment hire and support services for the mining and civil construction industries across South Australia. Intract Hire specialises in remote area rental solutions across South Australia. Driven by a dedicated Indigenous labour force, Intract Hire provides specialised plant and equipment rental solutions for the mining and civil construction industries throughout the State. In addition to wet and dry hire, we also offer modular accommodation including portable lunchrooms, sleeping quarters, kitchen facilities and ablution blocks, and all plumbing and electrical work. The team at Intract Hire is committed to offering an extensive range of modern plant and equipment, delivering quality and professional service, from hire through to maintenance support services. The partnership is aimed at providing long-term employment opportunities for Indigenous people in mining and civil construction contracting services. Intract focuses on creating opportunities for Indigenous communities to secure financial independence, as well as supporting cross cultural development and the preservation of Aboriginal culture. Intract Hire is a division of Intract Indigenous Contractors a business partnership formed between the Aboriginal Foundation of South Australia and McMahon Services.

The Intract Difference We offer both wet and dry hire, and ensure the timely delivery of all plant and equipment to remote locations. Our services span remote area equipment hire through to project support services. Our vast fleet of modern plant and equipment covers both short and long term dry and full service wet hire, including operators and fuel, and can be mobilised quickly to remote locations throughout South Australia. Our extensive fleet is ideal for operating in harsh terrains, with all plant and equipment modified to mine site specifications. We are committed to delivering strong customer service, quality assurance, high safety standards and competitive prices. Intract Hire guarantees the timely delivery of all plant and equipment, and 24/7 support services, including machine maintenance. Intract Hire is supported by Intract Indigenous Contractors, capable of delivering civil construction and general building works such as road building and maintenance, large-scale earthworks, land rehabilitation, concrete crushing and screening, demolition, roofing and plumbing, project management and general labour. The Team The team at Intract Hire are highly skilled, with extensive training in equipment operation and handling. All operators hold white cards and tickets for plant operation. The team is further supported and mentored by the highly experienced personnel from McMahon Services who share over 20 years experience in the civil construction industry. Our dedicated indigenous labour force is committed to delivering professional customer service, and strives to exceed client expectations. Intract General Manager John Briggs also brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, with over 25 years of experience in mining and construction and six years supervising Aboriginal training and earthworks across the Pilbara Leases. The team is further supported and mentored by highly experienced McMahon Services personnel.

Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Training & Development Intract Indigenous Employment Program Through affiliations with the Aboriginal Foundation of South Australia, employment and training support services provider, Bedford Group, was introduced to Intract to help develop a civil construction work ready training and recruitment program specifically designed for Aboriginal people. The Intract Indigenous Employment Program is sponsored by the Aboriginal Foundation with funding from the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Aboriginal training and pathway consultants, Trainway, were engaged to coordinate a five-week intensive program comprising a selection of competency units from Certificate II in Civil Construction (RII20709). These include the use of hand and power tools, operation of small plant and equipment, skid steer loader ticket, roller training, senior first aid certificate, traffic control and white card training. Participants are also coached in essential life skills during the program to overcome barriers such as drugs and alcohol, family issues, being away from home, finance and budgeting, healthy lifestyles and developing self-management tools. Intract is Safety Focused All Intract employees are trained in McMahon Services Safety Focused Behavioural Program, designed to build a strong safety culture throughout the organisation. The program utilises a mix of workshops, training materials, on site mentors and behavioural prompters in order to equip staff with the structure, knowledge and ability to act appropriately at all times. Intract Hire is committed to providing exceptional quality services, a strong safety culture and a key focus on the preservation and protection of the environment. All projects are carried out under third party accredited management systems resulting in the highest standards of project management and delivery.

Plant & Equipment Intract Hire offers a wide range of civil construction specific equipment from excavators, loaders and rollers through to graders, dozers and water trucks. Intract Hire is supported by McMahon Services extensive fleet of plant and equipment in addition to its self-owned and operated fleet. With a network valued over $50 million and exceeding over 300 individual units, Intract Hire have the resources to undertake a large variety of civil construction and building works. We provide mine specification plant and equipment and full service wet hire is available for short and long term project requirements.
