Payload over or under loading, or imbalanced payloads, all impact negatively on the productivity of a mining operation and the potential financial return. RCT s new Payload Logging feature of the PMS provides the operator with information about load distribution, together with optimal load weight, and whether this has been exceeded or not. 5 Data and Tracking Systems Comlink Satellite Data Capture and Tracking System The EarthTrack Comlink Satellite Data Capture & Tracking System is a versatile monitoring and productivity tool designed to allow the user to track and capture machine data in real time. The system utilises a vehicle transponder, satellite tracking technology and web based global positioning software to capture vehicle data and report the location of any machinery, anywhere in the world. The machine transponder communicates with a satellite base station, which relays the global positioning of the machine via a satellite to a web based global view system such as Google Earth. The data captured from the machine is stored on RCT s secure web server, which the user can then access and view by logging into their RCT account. This tool has a range of applications. Usage includes tracking and analysing data from hire fleets, to tracking delivery schedules for transport fleets and monitoring the real time position of mining equipment. 6 Control & Automation Protection Systems Digital Logging Devices Digital Logging Device The EarthTrack Digital Logging Device (DLD) is a versatile, low cost solution, which enables you to monitor and manage the performance and productivity of your fleet with minimal fuss. The system electronically records and stores up to 6 months of operating data for each machine. The data is then downloaded to a portable data collector or directly onto a personal computer (PC) for further analysis. 7 Digital Logging Devices Digital Logging Device for Underground Applications The EarthTrack Digital Logging Device (DLD) is purpose built for underground mining applications. Constructed using an alloy case, the underground DLD is waterproof and resistant to damage from falling debris. 8 Control & Automation Protection Systems Digital Logging Devices Radio Download (Short Range) System The EarthTrack Radio Download (Short Range) System has been designed specifically as a licence free short range down loading system. The system allows site operators to easily collect data from a fleet of equipment without having to physically go on board each machine to download the information. The system utilises the existing Digital Logging Device (DLD) with the addition of a low power radio transmitter module. The handheld downloader, with the addition of a radio docking station and antennas, allows the retrieval of data from each machine via radio signal. This process dramatically reduces the time taken for the operator to collect data from a fleet of machines and allows information to be retrieved from each machine at anytime without causing machine downtime. 9 Machine Operational Systems Silent Horn System The EarthTrack Silent Horn System is designed to provide a fast clear message to the trucks in the Digger's circuit, without noise pollution or confusion. The system includes a transmitter located in the loading machine (Excavator, Digger, Shovel or Wheel Loader) connected to the horn switch and a receiver located in the truck. The Digger transmitter is set to a pre-determined channel and when the truck is assigned to the Digger the truck operator selects the channel required and the system will then communicate. When the truck is in position, the Digger operator activates the horn switch, indicating to the truck driver to stop via an alarm LED indication. When the truck is full, the operator activates the horn switch indicating to the truck driver to move off via the alarm and LED signal. The system will also interface to an existing Payload System for ease of operation. The EarthTrack Silent Horn System has been designed to meet Australian Standards for mine site radio communications. 10 Control & Automation Protection Systems Payload Monitoring Systems Portable Remote Payload Display The EarthTrack Portable Remote Payload Display (PRPD) is designed to allow mine site supervisors to monitor the productivity of their fleet from the comfort of their service vehicle. The PRPD comes in a solid metal case for easy portability and is powered by the lighter socket on the dash of the service vehicle. The PRPD communicates with the trucks via a radio link and comes with a channel selector to allow the supervisor to select the truck they wish to monitor. This unit displays the exact information as seen on the loading machine. Part No: 0000 Description: PORTABLE REMOTE PAYLOAD DISPLAY Payload Monitoring Systems Remote Payload Diagnostic Unit The EarthTrack Remote Payload Diagnostic Unit (RPDU) has been developed to allow on site service personnel to quickly and effectively diagnose faults with the remote payload display system. The RPDU performs various tests, such as channel selection, weight display, communications and truck loading status. When used in conjunction with the remote payload simulation software, the diagnostic unit can be used to workshop test the machine without it actually performing loading functions. 11 Payload Monitoring Systems Remote Payload Display The EarthTrack Remote Payload Display (RPD) system works by transmitting payload data from the truck being loaded to the loading machine, displaying the truck s load status inside the loading machine. This process increases production efficiency by allowing the loader operator to load the optimal weight onto the truck every time.
