The OWLS Club, sponsored by the City of Rock Hill Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department, consists of adults over the age of 55 in Rock Hill and surrounding areas. The purpose of the group is to provide quality programs and activities through social gatherings, sports, games, and daytime/overnight trips to all seniors. There is no fee to join the group, simply call or email Katie Conley and express your interest. We look forward to seeing you at our next function! September 2016 SENIOR GAMES Sept. 19-29, 2016 HEALTH FAIR Sept. 22, 2016 10 AM-12 PM It s time to register for the Rock Hill Area Senior Sports Classic! For $20 per person, you can participate in an unlimited number of events, play bingo, receive a t-shirt, attend two lunches and a hot dog dinner at the awards ceremony!! Also, mark your calendar for September 22, 2016 from 10 AM 12 PM for the Senior Health Fair at Boyd Hill Gym. This is open to the public and we will be giving away door prizes. We will arrive at the Highland Lake Inn where we will enjoy a wonderful lunch. Then we will set up shop outdoors and spend a few hours with nature while we paint a watercolor fall scene taught by PRT s very own, Patti Panetti. Following the paint class, we will drive up to Sky Top Orchard where you can stroll through the market. Purchase fresh apples, some cider or their delicious apple cinnamon donuts!! Seating is VERY limited. We can only take the first 12 people to register. We will travel in a city bus. $35 per person. This includes the transportation and cost of watercolor supplies (including framing). Lunch is on your own as well as anything you purchase at Sky Top Orchard. ADVENTURES IN LEARNING FALL SESSION: September 19, September 26, October 3, October 10, October 17, October 24 Monday mornings: 9 AM 12 PM The Shepherd s Center of Rock Hill is led by an active, working Board of Directors. These York County residents are involved in all aspects of their communities and provide the ideas and network from which we invite speakers and class leaders to share their talents and knowledge in our Adventures in Learning classes. Adventures in Learning is six weeks of stimulating lessons and challenging activities that enrich and inspire. Classes include a selection of topics such as Bible study, bridge, other card or board games, exercise or dance, current events, history, travel, health concerns, computer skills, creative writing, knitting or other crafts. Instructors come from all walks of life: local residents with interesting skills, talents and/or experiences, university professors, artists, medical, education and other professionals. The six week program is $20 per person. Club spirit by sporting a club t-shirt! Choose from navy blue, red, kelly green, or tan. T-shirts are $15 for short sleeved and $18 for long sleeved. All proceeds go to the O.W.L.S. Club.
