6 Hull College Students Union is dedicated to benefiting students. We are elected from the student body and are here to listen to what you have to say. Our policies and priorities must be student-led and student focused, building open, transparent and accessible democratic structures that increase our performance and strengthen the community. We are affiliated with the National Union of Students, a voluntary membership organisation which makes a real difference to the lives of students and its member students unions. NUS is a confederation of 600 students unions, amounting to more than 95 per cent of all higher and further education union in the UK. Through its member students unions, we represent the interests of more than seven million students. At the beginning of the academic year, we hold our annual Freshers Weeks where you can meet new friends, join societies and sports teams, find out more about the City of Hull and have some fun social evenings! Around this time, we also elect course and site reps to ensure every area of Hull, Harrogate and Goole Colleges are fairly represented. From us, you can buy the NUS cards for 12 which last for a full 12 months and can save you up to 500 in a year from Amazon to travelling. The options are endless! In addition, we also offer the PASS hologram Citizencard as an official form of ID... for free! Not only do we hold fun events to strengthen the social aspect of your student experience, but we also ensure that you are getting the best of quality while studying here at Hull College. We hold monthly rep meetings in addition with Student Voice meetings and then raise your views at Committees to ensure the College also hears your voice and takes action. We hold annual elections in the SU, giving students the opportunity to run Hull College Students Union and help develop and grow the student community. In the past, Executive Committees have been successful in campaigns such as the pedestrian crossing outside the Horncastle Building (due in place autumn 2014) and developing a rep structure that defines the roles and responsibilities of student representatives. From campaigns to activities our main focus is purely on students. mail@hcsu.co.uk Website: Facebook: Hull College Student Union
