Course Key Day Time Date Duration Fee Fees Courses are available to all applicants. For learners that are aged 16-18 on 31 August 2014 the tuition fee is paid by the Education Funding Agency on behalf of the learner. The exam fee for the first sitting of each exam is free. For adult learners who are 19 years of age or older on 31 August 2014, the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) may pay all or some of the tuition fee on your behalf. Although courses are open to applications from all learners, this funding will only be provided by the SFA in relation to the level of course, age, previous achievement and economic circumstances. The funding eligibility is not determined by Bury College. If a learner is not eligible for full funding a fee will apply, this is an inclusive fee which includes tuition, examination, and registration fees for one year. On a small number of courses, there may be additional costs for residentials, materials or individual registration to the awarding body. Fees are payable upon enrolment by cash, cheque, debit or credit card. You may be able to pay by instalments. If your employer is paying your tuition fees we will accept a letter confirming this. Some learners aged 24 or over may be eligible for a 24+ loan. Please visit www.gov.uk/advancedlearningloans for more information. Most learners will be eligible for government funding if they are citizens of the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK or EEA for at least 3 previous years prior to the first day of learning. Other individuals could be eligible for funding and this will be assessed on enrolment. Please contact the college for details. For fee enquiries please contact the funding team on 0161 280 8500. Can you study for free? - You may not have to pay tuition fees. The Government, through the Skills Funding Agency, is reducing its subsidy on a number of courses, but there are certain fee reductions available. Please remember - you may be entitled to a FREE COURSE if you are in one of the following categories: If you are aged 16-18 all fees are paid by the Education Funding Agency. 19-23 year old learners studying their first full Level 2 qualification. 19-23 year old learners studying their first full Level 3 qualification. 19-23 year old learners studying Entry Level or Level 1 (not including English, Maths or ESOL) where the learner does not have a full Level 2 qualification and needs a step up to progress to a full Level 2. Learners studying courses in English and Maths up to Level 2 including GCSE English and Maths if you have not already achieved a grade C or above. Individuals on Job Seekers Allowance (JSA - including the partner where the claim is joint) or Employment and Support Allowance in the Work Related Activity (ESA WRAG), or Universal Credit who are unemployed and required to undertake skills training. Unemployed learners on specific state benefits (other than JSA or ESA), who need skills to gain employment. If your course is offering a special discount to encourage you to enrol. This information will be made available when you enquire, apply or enrol. If you are in one of the above groups you may be entitled to a FREE COURSE. Please help us with your claim by providing the relevant documentation.
