6 What will it cost? Maybe nothing! Details of the cost of courses is provided in the Courses Directory section of this Guide. However you may be able to pursue a course and gain a qualification without paying anything! Age If you are age 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August 2011 you may not have to pay Tuition Fees. If you, or your unwaged partner, are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance (Work related activity group) you will not be required to pay any Tuition, Registration or Examination Fees. You may also be able to access financial support for any extra costs that your course may involve. Financial Support The College has a number of different funds to help with your expenses while you are a learner with us. Brief details of the main schemes are listed below. Learner Support Funds You may be able to get help with equipment costs and travelling expenses from funds that are allocated to the College. Childcare Costs There are different ways in which the college can help with childcare costs depending on your personal circumstances. The rules surrounding these schemes are complicated but we can advise you. Professional and Career Development Loans You may be able to obtain a loan to support the cost of your learning.
