BACKGROUND The Student Practice Facilitatr is a psitin created as part f the implementatin f the new Bachelr f Midwifery undergraduate degree which is jintly wned by Otag Plytechnic and CPIT. The new prgramme uses blended delivery mdels t enable grups f students based in lcatins thrughut the Suth Island (called satellites) and the lwer Nrth Island t access the Bachelr f Midwifery prgramme. The blended delivery cmpnents cmprise face t face intensive blcks, nline thery cntent, nline tutrials, midwifery practice in rural and urban lcatins, and face t face small grup tutrials with the SPFs in satellite areas. The prgramme was first delivered in the Suth Island in 2009. Frm 2010 the prgramme it was als delivered thrugh satellites in Whanganui, Palmerstn Nrth and Wellingtn. Page 1 f 6
