Exercise significant levels f discipline and technical knwledge; prvide specialist advice and assistance t senir staff and a wide range f clients within the agency. Prvide expert advice and undertake duties f a sensitive, innvative, critical r cmplex nature, fr SAPOL s Shield Prgram. POSITION SUMMARY The Shield Applicatin Administratr will prvide applicatin-specific technical expertise t the Shield Prgram, in the cnfiguratin, delivery and supprt f the Niche Recrds Management System and assciated agency system integratin. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS Suth Australia Plice prvides a diverse range f services t the cmmunity. These services are aimed at prducing a safe and peaceful envirnment by the minimisatin f crime and disrder. It is a large cmplex rganisatin which, because f the nature f its peratins, is cnstantly subject t public scrutiny and accuntability. It prvides services t a range f different lcatins (ver 100) spread acrss the State n the basis f 24 hurs a day, 7 days a week. The IS&T Service is respnsible fr the prvisin f IT and cmmunicatins services, and is therefre vital t the achievement f SAPOL s cre bjectives. In cnsultatin with its custmers, IS&T plans, develps, and installs new facilities, and supprts existing facilities. These facilities are prvided t agreed quality and service levels. The Shield Prgram is the majr sftware prgram fr SAPOL fr the next 5 years and will prvide Applicatin Administratr (SHIELD) ASO6.Dc 1
2 SAPOL with a sftware package fr peratinal plicing frm a leading vendr that will be central t plicing in Suth Australian fr the next decade. Shield will be a central part f the sftware fr criminal justice in Suth Australia. The primary sftware package selected fr implementatin fr the Shield Prgram is a COTS prduct called Niche RMS. Integratin f the Niche RMS System t the State Justice Systems will be via a JBss Enterprise Middleware. The Shield Applicatin Administratr is a technical specialist wh must pssess high levels f applicatin management skills t: Manage technical change acrss the Shield Prgram. Perfrm applicatin maintenance n Shield nn-prductin envirnments. Perfrm sftware cnfiguratin management f the Niche RMS System. Perfrm sftware release management f Niche RMS and system integratin cmpnents. Participate in sftware implementatin f Niche RMS and integratin cmpnents. Perfrm maintenance, nging mnitring and supprt f Niche client, applicatin and integratin sftware fr the Prgram (nn-prductin envirnments).
