GREEK DAY 2016 Greek Day on Broadway is the largest one day Greek festival in Vancouver and the grand finale event in a month long Greek Heritage Festival. Presented by the Hellenic Canadian Congress of BC, the festival aims to share the rich Greek culture which spans 2500 years of history, including over 100 years of social and cultural contributions to the City of Vancouver. Greek Day on Broadway takes place on Sunday June 26th, 2016. A five block stretch on Broadway measuring almost one kilometre, from MacDonald to Blenheim, is closed off to traffic to make room for a world of delicious Greek food and drink, market vendors, entertainment, and live music offering a laid back, yet lively Greek atmosphere. This award winning festival presents valued community partners the opportunity to exhibit products, promote travel experiences, or showcase their brand to a massive captive consumer audience. 2

Our Green Team Volunteers will be there to assist you. All items purchased from Street Vendors are biodegradable. ALL food scraps and ALL serving supplies can be tossed into the Organics Bins (i.e. paper plates, utensils, forks and cutlery, wax paper and souvlaki sticks, napkins, coffee cups, and beer and wine cups). Our plan is based on Industrial Grade Composting that will eventually be used back on local Farms. In previous years this event produced up to 2 bins of garbage in one day (8ft x 8ft wide x 18ft long). That s a lot of Garbage! This year we hope to take less to the landfill and more to the composting bin. 7
