Why study this programme? This programme will equip you with industryspecific skills unique to the accounting and financial sector. You will learn and practise quantitative applications, using statistical software to critically evaluate and address accounting and finance-related issues. Programme content is consistent with subject portfolios of professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Institute of Risk Management, providing significant advantages over your peers as it can help you study for professional qualifications with these bodies. The scope and nature of the programme will enhance your competence in key areas of business management, increasing your employment prospects in industry. You will also gain additional knowledge, skills and attitudes that will be required to enter a successful career in business, specifically in financial management, accounting and banking. The programme is also relevant to students with experience who wish to switch from their current role to a different area of employment. You will gain both practical skills that will enhance your employability in the finance and accounting business sectors and broader cognitive, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills that will provide you with a foundation for lifelong learning. On successful completion of this foundation degree, you will have the opportunity to enter the final year of our BA Hons Business Administration with Accounting and Finance programme. This will enable you to top up your qualification to a full honours degree in only a year. This foundation degree is a new programme, but the university has a history of successful teaching in these areas. We are No. 1 in London for student satisfaction in accounting and finance (The Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide League Table 2014), and 99% of students on our BA Hons Accounting and Finance degree are satisfied with the quality of the programme (National Student Survey referenced in Unistats). The programme benefits from strong, established relationships with local and regional employers. Our placement and employability team encourages students to

participate in competitions and mentoring schemes and provides forums, such as guest lectures and visits from professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. The programme is offered by the Department of Technology Management & Enterprise (TME), one of four departments in the School of Engineering. TME aims to equip students with the technical and managerial skills that are relevant in today s workplace. Why study with us? The School of Engineering, part of the Faculty of Engineering & Science, has built strong links with local and national employers. We enjoy the support of an industrial board, a forum which enables us to constantly revise our programmes to reflect the changing needs of industry. Our students leave equipped with the skills and practical experience that employers value. We have invested in the very latest facilities and industry-standard equipment, so you will graduate with hands-on experience of the technology being used in the workplace. Many of our programmes are accredited or recognised by relevant professional bodies, which can widen your career options and increase your opportunities for career progression. Our success has been widely acknowledged. In the Times and the Sunday Times University Guide 2014, we were ranked No. 2 in the UK for student satisfaction in electrical and electronic engineering and No. 1 in the UK for student satisfaction in civil engineering. We have also done well in the Guardian University Guide 2014, where general engineering at Greenwich was ranked second in the country for student satisfaction with teaching quality. Our Medway Campus is in the rapidly developing area of Chatham Maritime. The campus is home to three universities, making it a vibrant place to work, study and relax. There are three cafés, a pub, a gym, a sports hall and halls of residence. The Students Union University of Greenwich (www.suug.co.uk) and Greenwich and Kent Students Unions Together (www.gkunions. co.uk), a partnership between SUUG and the students union at the University of Kent, organise a variety of sports and social activities on campus and run a number of student societies. The Medway Campus is located near the historic towns of Rochester and Chatham and is 50 minutes by train from central London. What will you study?
