JOB DESCRIPTION THE COLLECTIVE FILM LOCATIONS AGENCY COMMERCIAL LOCATION CO-ORDINATOR Position: Employment: Where: Commercial Location Co-ordinator Permanent / full time Camden, London Salary: Realistic OTE 27k - 35k+ 20k- 25k basic + Quarterly company-wide bonus (approx. 2k pa) + Uncapped annual commission projected at between 5k - 8k+ Start date: Early April 2013 Company profile The Collective is London s most highly regarded and widely referenced film and TV location agency, promoting a database of over 2,000 residential and commercial properties for hire as filming locations to every major production taking place within the capital; equating to approximately 80% of all commercial filming that takes place in the whole of the UK. Our database has developed into the most prestigious in London and is at the forefront of consideration of every production working in and around London. A cornerstone of our market leading position lies in our unique structure: we have secured the exclusive membership of nearly 180 leading location managers; all of whom work full time in the film, TV and advertising industries. The majority of our location database has been introduced to us by our membership and we donate 25% of our commission back to each introducing member for every hire we administrate. This structure has paved the way for us to become the industry s most prolific agency. In the past twelve months we have worked closely with some of the biggest films to have hit (or are about to hit) cinema audiences across the globe; a small selection of recent credits is Skyfall, Les Miserable, World War Z, Dark Knight Rises, Thor II, Fast and the Furious 6, Judge Dredd, The Sweeney, Quartet and Great Expectations We are also a first port of call for most of the much loved dramas based in and around London: Downton Abbey, Luther, Call the Midwife, Black Mirror, Silent Witness, Lewis, New Tricks, The Thick of It, The Hour, The Hunted and Mr Selfridge make up just a small proportion of the drama productions we are proud to have been given the opportunity to provide locations for in the past 12 months. The Collective is most widely regarded for its portfolio of high value, unique and exciting portfolio of commercial, industrial and prestigious institutional locations,

many of which we are contracted to represent exclusively for all filming and photographic enquiries. Due to the short deadline, quick turnaround nature of the hires we administrate, the office environment is fast-paced. We are a close, good-natured and tight knit team of hard-workers focused on continually delivering a high standard of service to both property owners and production companies. The current situation The organisation as a whole has undergone major evolution over the past 15 months to become an extremely exciting dynamic and exciting company, packed full of talent and enthusiasm, involved in numerous innovations to keep resetting the bar in terms of the standard of service we deliver to our client base. The enquiry department is in a combined state of both growth and transition. The department has increased its turnover by 50% between 2011 and 2012. Over the next four months, the enquiry team is unfortunately losing two of its three amazing team members, Su and Lucinda, through maternity and the seeking of a new adventure respectively. One of our company values is to always turn a negative into a positive. So, during this four month window, we are excited by the prospect of identifying and recruiting two new team members who will start at The Collective at approximately the same time full of drive and enthusiasm creating a new energy and team dynamic. In the past a Location Co-ordinator has had to develop an almost encyclopaedic knowledge base covering all 2,000 live residential and commercial locations. The company has made the move to divide and conquer and is also seeking a Residential Location Co-ordinator, again a new role, to specialise on this section of the database which numerically makes up approximately 50% of the live locations and 25% of the company income. Both new recruits will undergo the orientation process and training program together which will be collectively overseen by the whole team and lead by the Managing Director, Antony Iredale. This is an exciting time for everyone within The Collective as well as its sister organisations, Focus Photographic Locations and Canvas Events.

Job role Enquiry conversion Receive and interpret briefs from location managers and producers and present accurate options from our existing database Collaborate across the enquiry team and wider office to maximise the number of accurate options to increase the likelihood of conversion Organise site visits between enquirers and owners Negotiate terms that satisfy both parties and secure the hire fee in advance of the hire Generate and sign off hire agreements, invoices and purchase orders from existing industry approved templates. Oversee all aftercare issues such as damages and overtime for each hire to maintain positive relationships with location owners Account management of locations You will deliver the highest standard of service to a pool of exclusive location accounts to maximise interest and income and maintain the most positive relationship possible between the agency and the owner. Regularly visit your account managed locations and receive feedback from the owners Create and submit a quarterly performance report to your exclusive accounts. Identify new opportunities to improve our service to your accounts. Account management of productions The key contact for long running feature film and TV drama projects, delivering the highest standard of service to the location department of these productions to convert as many of their location briefs as possible. Client relationship development Collaborate with the head of department and marketing executive to strengthen existing relationships with individuals and production companies through regular communication and tailoring your service to respond to their requirements. Seek to forge wider agreements and arrangements with production companies to secure preferential status. To engage directly with our membership of location managers to generate new options for high value briefs. To evolve all existing positive relationships with location owners into more knowledgeable and personable ones. Special projects and networking Set non-enquiry based one-off projects as part of your individual 90 day plan which will lead to communication and collaboration with different departments within the organisation MD / Library / Enquiries / Marketing / Acquisitions to complete these projects to the highest standard. Identify, assess and plan out any new initiatives you are either offered or create yourself and then implement each initiative in order of priority. Visit our locations in action to witness the fruits of your labour Attend regular industry events post-office hours to strengthen individual relationships, promote The Collective and also have an enjoyable night out with other team members

Characteristics and criteria An ambitious and highly intelligent professional seeking a suitably ambitious company to unlock their potential A passion for the media industry, only apply if you harbour a genuine interest in film, TV and the visual arts including music videos and TV commercials Hold a genuine interest in the London architectural landscape; if you are a fan of Open House London then this role is a natural fit. A proven achiever in a previous sales or target based role. Experience in account management, client development or along similar lines would strengthen your candidacy. A solid knowledge of Greater London geography is desirable. A willing contributor, generous with donating their time for the wider develop of the company. Well presented with outstanding all round communication skills A warm but professional telephone manner and the natural ability to build rapport, the phone is our primary communication tool to establish and strengthen client relationships. The ability to be diplomatic and calm, as an agent you are positioned in the middle, always bringing people together. An interest in and proficiency in photography would be desirable but not essential. Technically proficient in all conventional Microsoft Office software essential. The ability to use design packages such as In Design and Final Cut Pro is a welcome bonus Contacts within the film location industry would be desirable but not essential Hold a clean driving licence Your financial target 2013-2014: To work collaboratively and creatively to reach a minimum of 85% of he income achieved by Lucinda, the departing Location Co-ordinator in the first 12 months of employment post-completion of handover. 2014-2015: To exceed the 2013-2014 target by an additional 25% through account managing a larger portfolio of high value locations than year one coupled with improvements in performance across the department and company. Future development The objective of every team member is to become indispensable; our job is to keep good people at The Collective for as long as possible. We aim to achieve this by ensuring team members feel they are continually developing and furthering your career within the organisation. To give you a sense of where the organisation was three years ago we were made up of one company, not three separate companies as we are now. In the same period we have grown from a team of 6 to 15 and income has more than doubled. Since 2009 two current team members have developed from entry level or internship placements into the heads of two of the three companies under The Collective Group banner. The group has prided itself on being able to accommodate the ambitions that brilliance naturally brings along with it.

The group consists of: From an external perspective, the enquiry department of The Collective provides a natural fast-track access into the locations department of feature films, TV dramas and the wider media industry. It is extremely easy for bright, enthusiastic and proactive enquiry team members to build up a large fan-base of location scouts, managers and producers who rely upon your knowledge and brilliance to assist them in their jobs. These individuals become invaluable contacts should you wish at some point to further your career on-set rather than in the friendly, warm and comfortable walls of our agency. Over the past couple of years, a number of ex-collective alumni have made this transition with the company s support and also huge success. Accumulated credits include War Horse, Fast and the Furious 6, Silent Witness, Poirot, Lewis, Great Expectations, Johnny English Reborn, The Woman in Black, One Day, Never Let Me Go, New Tricks and World War Z as well as many more new productions in the pipeline that have not hit the viewing publics conscious just yet.
