The Gala dinner will feature a performance of a newly commissioned symphony in honor of GSA s 125th year, performed by the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, and special items, such as our 125th Anniversary labeled wines. Gala Lead Underwriting and Sponsorships available. Please contact Debbie Marcinkowski, Director of Corporate Partnerships, directly: dmarcinkowski@geosociety.org or +1-303-357-1047 Icebreaker Opening Reception The icebreaker party was a popular new addition to last year s meeting, and we expect it to grow even more in Denver. This takes place the Saturday evening before the meeting and is an opportunity to connect with friends, enjoy a drink, enter drawings, and plan the week ahead. More than 3,000 people attended last year a significant audience for sponsorship exposure and networking. $20,000 Lead Sponsorship $2,500 Supporting Sponsorships 8 available GSA President s Student Breakfast All students registered for the meeting are invited to attend a free breakfast buffet. GSA s president, members of leadership, and sponsoring company staff members will be on hand to answer questions and address student issues. This is an opportunity for students to network, meet the officers of GSA, and recognize the ExxonMobil Field Camp Scholar Awardees. Lead Sponsorship GSA Presidential Address and President s Award Reception After the GSA president s special lecture, the President s Medal will be conferred to an individual, group, or entity whose impact has profoundly enhanced the geoscience profession. All are welcome to attend, even non-registered guests. This is a high-visibility event early in the meeting schedule. The separate Awards Reception will honor 2013 medal and award recipients. $5,000 Supporting Sponsorships 2 available 1 Women in Geology Mentor Program This high-demand program addresses issues faced by women in geology, beginning with remarks from key speakers (including GSA s Subaru Outstanding Woman in Science Awardee). The brief talks are followed by time for networking, sharing ideas, and getting to know other women geoscientists. $5,000 Supporting Sponsorships 2 available 1

Student Volunteer Program The program provides essential support toward the success of the meeting while offsetting the costs for students to attend. For noteworthy exposure to the nearly 300 students who participate, a sponsoring company may have a presence in the convening volunteer office to provide materials, talk to the students, or provide a volunteer vest or shirt branded with the company s logo. $10,000 Exclusive Sponsorship Poster Sessions & Afternoon Beer Receptions Thousands of attendees visit this busy area on the exhibit hall floor throughout the day and attend the free beer receptions on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons. Sponsors will be recognized on the overhead banner in the posters area of the exhibit hall and on 24,000 drink tickets. $10,000 Sponsorships 3 available Digital Posters The digital posters have been popular, high-traffic areas for the first two years they have been part of the meeting. GEOSCIENCE CAREER PROGRAM Connecting Industry and Students This new offering focuses our programs that connect industry and students into a day of progressive sessions (with optional sessions a day before for students and a day after for interviews). Half-Day Student Workshop: Careers in Geoscience: Preparing to Launch Your Job Search Saturday, 26 October This student workshop with an HR and best-practices consultant will help geoscience students successfully navigate the human resource professional procurement pipeline and covers constructing effective cover letters, résumés, and CVs, and preparing for the behavior-based interviews that determine whether candidates gain entry into the professional geoscience workplace. This workshop will help prepare students to interact with you throughout Sunday s sessions. Student Research Highlight Session Sunday morning, 27 October This morning session gives sponsoring industry representatives and hiring managers an opportunity to become familiar with students and their work, begin dialogues, and get to know some of the brightest geoscientists soon to be entering the workforce. Lunchtime Geology in Industry Q&A Panel Sunday lunch, 27 October This lunch, free to students participating in the career program (generally 300+ attendees) is centered around a panel representing various industries. Panelists answer questions, offer advice about preparing for a career in industry, and comment on the current and anticipated roles of geoscientists within their industries. Geoscience Career/Professional Practice Session Sunday afternoon, 27 October The afternoon session switches gears and puts you, the corporate sponsor, behind the table to convey the unique culture within your company and the types of careers available, to answer questions, and to talk one-on-one with students. This is an opportunity to include your hiring manager or geoscience recruiter, and we strongly recommend that you also bring one or two of your recent hires to answer questions about their jobs and their work. You may use your allotted space creatively to display your company s work, sustainability initiatives, less-known projects in research, and other components that build awareness of your positive contributions to your communities. Evening Reception Sunday evening This informal mixer offers a networking opportunity for the career program s participating companies and students, as well as early-career GSA members. Companies interested in following the day with formal interviews on Monday may make arrangements to participate in our Employment Service Center: www.geosociety.org/employment_service/ Geology In Industry Lunch Panel $15,000 Lead Sponsorship/Panelist Includes recognition as lead sponsor, participation in all Career Program sessions on Sunday and 4 tickets to the evening reception $5,000 Supporting Sponsorship/Panelist 3 Includes participation in all Career Program sessions on Sunday and 2 tickets to the evening reception Evening Reception $2,500 Sponsorship/Panelist 2 available 1 $15,000 Lead Sponsorship Includes participation in all Career Program sessions on Sunday and 8 tickets to the evening reception $5,000 Supporting Sponsorship 3 available Includes participation in all Career Program sessions on Sunday and 4 tickets to the evening reception Geoscience Career Program General Sponsorship $10,000 Sponsorships 1 Includes recognition at Saturday s Student Workshop, access to the morning Student Research Highlight Session, a table at the afternoon Professional Practice Session, and 3 tickets to the evening reception $5,000 Sponsorships Includes access to the morning Student Research Highlight Session, a table at the afternoon Professional Practice Session, and 2 tickets to the evening reception $2,500 Sponsorships 1 Includes access to the morning Student Research Highlight Session and a table at the afternoon Professional Practice Session
