TEACHING At the Faculty of Applied Sciences, teaching revolves around lectures, seminars, lab work, assignments and research. Biotechnology, Food Science, Nutrition and Aquatic Science students will spend a considerable amount of time in the lab and they will receive sufficient training to navigate the rigours of scientific pursuit. To ensure our graduates hit the ground running when it comes to work, students are required to complete two months of internship for each academic year. This is facilitated via Co-Op, UCSI University's renowned industry placement programme. The Faculty's extensive industry network has also opened doors for thousands of students and many make a lasting impression during their internship, securing job offers before they even graduate. Students are assessed through written exams, research findings, feedback on their internship stints, as well as a variety of assessments and dissertations. 3 4

It is home to millions of aquatic species. And most importantly, it sustains human life. An invaluable resource must be managed responsibly and this programme was launched on this very basis. Addressing crucial issues in the aquatic ecosystem, the programme equips students with the know-how to develop solutions for an ever-changing planet. By reading this programme, you can look forward to develop a solid foundation in the basic sciences analytical chemistry, microbiology, structural chemistry and statistics before delving into the intensive study of environmental monitoring and assessment, aquatic biodiversity and taxonomy, principles in aquaculture and aquaculture engineering and aquatic pollution and toxicology.
