Must be active in sports and/or extra-curricular activities, possess good attitude and leadership qualities, have a high level of English proficiency and good communication skills. BUMIPUTERA STUDY GRANT Closing Date: Intake Date Programmes American Transfer Program Advanced or any of the programmes from the following schools*: Architecture Building Design Biosciences Business Communication Computing Design Education Engineering Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts Law Medicine Pharmacy * Please refer to the Appendix on page 10 for the full list of programmes Bumiputera Students RM3,500 Note 1: The term Bumiputera Malaysian citizen as adopted by Taylor s shall include (i) a Malay as defined in Article 160 (2) of the Federal Constitution; (ii) a native of Sabah as defined in Article 161A (6)(a)of the Federal Constitution; (iii) a native of Sarawak as defined in Article 161 (6)(b) of the Federal Constitution; (iv) an aborigine as defined in the Aboriginal People s Act Must complete programme at Taylor s University, Malaysia, except for Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme Not applicable for any Top-Up Programmes & English Programmes. This Study Grant is awarded on a yearly basis and are renewable upon meeting minimum CGPA 2.50 at the end of each academic year. 8. The University reserves the right to change the contents without prior notice. i) All applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements into the selected programme. ii) All scholarships, bursaries and grants offered by Taylor s University to any student are at the absolute discretion of Taylor s University Bursary Committee. iii) All scholarships / bursaries / waivers offered by Taylor s University are subject to the terms and conditions. iv) All the Scholarship / Bursary applications must fulfil the Scholarship / Bursary and Academic Entry Requirements. v) The University reserves the right to decide on the number of scholarships to be awarded. vi) Students are entitled to only ONE (1) scholarship / bursary / waiver at any one time including sponsorship from other institutions/bodies. The one with the highest quantum will automatically apply. However, students are still entitled to the alumni family discount. vii) Scholarship offered is valid for the duration of the programme offered and strictly cannot be transferred to any other programmes at Taylor s University. viii) Scholarship and study grant recipients are required to meet a minimum CGPA 2.50 at the end of each academic year in order to enjoy the scholarship / study grant in the subsequent years (where relevant). Failure to meet such academic requirement will have the scholarship / study grant terminated. ix) Where applicable, scholarship recipients will be required to sign an agreement accepting the terms and conditions of the scholarship. x) Scholarship recipients who fail to comply with all the terms and conditions of the scholarship will be required to pay back 100% of total scholarship amount disbursed to him / her by Taylor s University. xi) All DEGREE scholarship recipients are required to undergo a Scholars Development Programme during the duration of their scholarship, which includes working with different departments within the University for enhanced exposures, acting as an Ambassador of the University at various events, attending leadership development programmes etc, in order to continue their scholarship in the subsequent year(s). xii) All scholarships / bursaries are applicable for studies at Taylor s University in Malaysia only and are not applicable for period of study at overseas partner universities. xiii) The Bursary Committee reserves the right to reject incomplete application forms.
