Fioptics TV App User Guide
Getting Started Download the Fioptics TV app from the App Store or from Google Play onto your tablet or smartphone. Fioptics TV is compatible with Apple ios 7.0+ devices and Android 4.X devices. To use the Fioptics TV app, you will login using your Cincinnati Bell My Account username and password. If you do not have a My Account, click Register for an account. Adding & Managing Devices Once you have logged into the Fioptics TV app, you will be able to add or manage your devices. With Fioptics TV, you can have up to five devices connected at one time. The first time you login, you will need to add your device, to do so, follow the steps below: Tap the Nickname field and enter a Nickname for that device. Tap ADD DEVICE Watch TV Once you have successfully added your device, tap WATCH TV to continue.
Guide Browse the interactive program guide with up to 14 days of programming. Scroll right and left in guide to view upcoming programming and to return to current programming. Tap the timer picker on the top left-hand side to jump to a particular date or time. Scroll up and down through channels in the guide to find what you would like to watch. Tap a program name to view the details on that episode. To view the show, tap the WATCH button. The WATCH button will only be present when you are connected to your home WiFi network.
Live TV From the programming information page, tap the WATCH button to view live TV from the Fioptics TV app. Click the arrow in the top left corner of the screen to return to the program information and guide. You can also access the guide be pulling up the quick a mini guide at the bottom of the screen by swiping up using the grab bar which is the three white lines. This will show what program is currently playing on all of the channels available within the Fioptics TV App. Just press tap the image for the show or movie poster and the program channel will immediately change. To set Closed Captioning options, tap the Gear icon on the top right-hand side. Edit the volume by tapping the volume icon to the left of the gear.
Favorites Set up all your favorite channels into an easy-to-access list. Don t hassle with scrolling through the entire guide just to see what s on your frequently accessed channels. Add Channels to Favorites From a phone: Click the GEAR icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Tap EDIT LINEUP Tap the HEART icons next to channel names to add those channels to your Favorites list. From a tablet: Place your finger on the three white lines between the channel number and list of programs in the guide, and drag to the right. Tap the hearts next to the channel names to add the channels to your Favorites list. Tap the hearts next to channel names to add those channels to your Favorites list. Filter the Guide by Your Favorites List To view your selected favorite channels only in the guide, tap the Heart Icon on the top-right hand side of the guide. When the Heart is blue, only your favorite channels will display in the guide.
Filters You can filter channels within your Guide by Category, by Star Rating, by TV Rating, or by Movie Rating. Tap the GEAR icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. To filter by category: Tap CATEGORY from the list of options. Tap the category name you wish to use as a filter (e.g. Action and Adventure, Arts, Children, etc.) To filter by star rating: Tap STAR RATING from the list of options. Tap the star rating you wish to use as a filter (e.g. 1 star, 1.5 stars, 2 stars, etc.). To filter by TV rating: Tap TV RATING from the list of options. Tap the TV rating you wish to use as a filter (e.g. TV Y, TV Y7, TV G, TV PG, etc.). To filter by movie rating: Tap MOVIE RATING from the list of options. Tap the movie rating you wish to use as a filter (e.g. G, PG, PG-13, R, etc.). To Clear Filters Tap the GEAR icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Tap Clear All
Parental Controls With parental controls, you can block certain channels or ratings. Set Parental Controls Password From the Fioptics TV menu, tap SETTINGS Tap PARENTAL CONTROLS Tap CREATE PIN With the onscreen keyboard, create new PIN by tapping the letters, numbers, and/or special characters. Tap the REENTER field and retype your PIN. Tap SAVE PIN to confirm. You can choose to set up parental controls by whole channels, by TV ratings, or by movie ratings. Lock Channels Tap INDIVIDUAL CHANNELS and tap the channels you would like to lock.
Parental Controls Lock by Rating Tap TV RATING or MOVIE RATING and tap the rating you would like to lock. When selecting by TV rating or by movie rating, the rating you select and all other ratings above it will be locked. For instance, if you choose to lock PG-13 movie ratings, all PG-13-, R, and Adult Content-rated programs will be locked. Relock Timer The relock timer is the timeframe in which parental controls will automatically be turned back on after being turned off. Choose between 30 seconds, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or Never. Set Relock Timer Tap RELOCK TIMER Tap timer for which you would like parental controls to automatically relock after turned off.
Parental Controls Turn On Parental Controls After you have set a Parental Controls PIN, set lock settings, and set the relock timer, tap the parental controls on/off toggle located to the right of the countdown timer. Locked channels will not appear in the guide and programs locked by rating will be replaced with a lock shown in the channel guide. Turn Off Parental Controls From the Fioptics TV menu, tap SETTINGS Tap PARENTAL CONTROLS Tap Parental Controls on/off toggle Enter your Parental Controls PIN Tap RELOCK TIMER, set relock timer to NEVER Tap PARENTAL CONTROLS to turn off or uncheck.
Network Apps The Fioptics TV app gives you access to your favorite network applications, like HBO GO and Fox Now. The Fioptics TV app will link you to all of the TV Everywhere apps that are available to Fioptics TV Subscribers. To access the list of applications you can access with your Fioptics TV app, follow the instructions below: For Android devices, tap the FIOPTICS icon in the upper right-hand corner and then tap NETWORK APPS from the list of options. For Apple devices, tap NETWORK APPS at the bottom of the screen. You will be presented with a list of network app icons. To open, tap the network you would like to watch. If you have already downloaded the corresponding application onto your phone or tablet, you will be redirected to the application. If you have NOT downloaded the corresponding application, you will be redirected to the app store. If you access an additional app, such as HBO GO, you will be required to sign in. Use the email address and password you used to log into the Fioptics TV app this will be the same as your Cincinnati Bell My Account username and password.
