The new GE Record SL Moulded Case Circuit Breaker family is a line of reliable, simple and easy to use protection devices for use in both moderate or hot and humid conditions in low voltage distribution systems. Using the same basic design concepts, look and materials as the comprehensive high performance Record Plus line, Record SL differs as it is focused on simplicity. Three frame sizes are available, the LD160 as a 1, 3 and 4 pole device, the LE250 as a 3 and 4 pole device and the LJ800 as a 3 and 4 pole device. Each device is equipped with a thermal magnetic trip unit thus allowing them to be used to protect circuits against overloads and short circuits up to a level of 65kA at 240V AC, 36kA at 415V AC or 20kA at 500V AC. Record SL is fully certified in accordance with the IEC 60947 standard and has NEMA AB1 interruption ratings. LD160 The first frame size, the LD160 is available in a current range of 16 to 160A calibrated for use at an ambient temperature of 40 or 50. The device has been designed for use in both commercial and industrial applications and can be connected and supplied from either the top or bottom terminals. Without impairing performance LD160's can be mounted side by side with zero clearance in horizontal or vertical position. Each breaker is supplied with a fixed thermal and magnetic protection device and is equipped with box terminals suited for the direct connection of both copper and aluminum cables. Simple to use and mount, the device has two front panel cutouts. One matching that of Miniature Circuit Breakers (45mm) and a 2nd option (64mm) matching that of the LE250 frame size. LJ800 LE250 The LJ800 is available in a current range of 500 to 800A calibrated for use at an ambient temperature of 40 or 50 C. The device has been designed for use in both commercial and industrial applications and can be connected and supplied from either the top or bottom terminals. Designed for side by side mounting with zero clearance LJ800's can be mounted in the horizontal or vertical position without impairing performance. Each breaker has an adjustable thermal and adjustable magnetic protection device and is equipped with easily accessible connection pads for Busbars or Ring terminals. The second frame size, the LE250 is available in a current range of 125 to 250A calibrated for use at an ambient temperature of 40 or 50. The device has been designed for use in both commercial and industrial applications and can be connected and supplied from either the top or bottom terminals. Designed for side by side mounting with zero clearance LE250's can be mounted in the horizontal or vertical position without impairing performance. Internal Accessories Safe and easy to install Each Record SL breaker has two or more insulated accessory compartments accesed by simply removing the break cover. Here internal accesories, supplied with 50cm length colour coded leads, can be mounted. The leads have a 1mm 2 cross section and fit into specifically desingned outgoing routing channels provided in the breaker. Shunt and Under Voltage Releases Electronic models Each Record SL breaker can be equipped with maximum of two releases each available in three typical voltage ratings. Three configurations are available, two with auxiliary contacts indicating the main breaker contact position (AUX) and one with a Bell Alarm contact that provides a breaker trip indication. Two variants are available, one with the operator on the breaker front and a second with the operator mounted on the front of a door or panel. Both variants have the OFF position at 9 o'clock and the ON position at 1 o'clock. All handles are equipped with a system allowing the user to lock and padlock the breaker in OFF position. Record SL LJ800 rotary handles is mounted directly onto the breaker front facia and allow the user to modify the standard top to bottom toggle operation mode to a rotary operation. An extension shaft and handle is then mounted on a door or panel. The handle has a OFF position at 9 o'clock and an ON position at 12 o'clock and is equipped with a system allowing the user to lock and padlock the breaker in OFF position Door mounted rotary handles The Door or Panel mounted rotary handle uses one common drilling pattern for both frame sizes. It comes with a defeatable door interlock to prevent door opening or panel removal when the breaker is ON. Terminal shields The LD160 and LE250 breaker types can be equipped with terminal shields that allow an IP20 product finish. Padlocking facility Each 3 or 4 pole Record SL device can be equipped with a facility that allows the user to padlock the breaker in it's OFF position. A maximum of three padlocks with a hasp diameter of 5 to 8 mm can be used. Alternate connection modes Alternate Connection Modes The Record SL LD160 type is supplied with box terminals suited for the direct connection of both copper (max. 95mm 2 ) and Aluminium (max. 70mm 2 ) cable cores. Optionally extenders are available allowing the device to be connected with busbars or ring terminals. The LE250 comes with easily accessible 'flat' connection pads that allow the user to connect the device with ring terminals and standard or flexible busbars up to a size of 20 5mm. Optionally extenders are available allowing the device to be connected with oversized busbars or ring terminals. Box terminals suited for the direct connection of both copper and Aluminium cable cores up to 120mm 2 are available as accessories. The LJ800 has a standard connection option allowing the user to use rigid or flexible busbars with a maximum width of 40mm. To allow the use of wider busbars extenders are available. To connect the breaker directly with cables with multiple aluminium or copper core compact, breaker mounted lugs are available. 3 4
