PURPOSE OF ROLE: The primary purpose of the Solution Architect is to provide technical advice, support and strategy to our customers and the Managed Services organisation particularly the sales teams to deliver continued growth within the Managed Service business. Solution Architects work on a peer level with Account Managers to formulate technical requirements for nominated customers and new business sales projects. It is vital that the Solution Architect acts as the lead Technical Authority for these accounts/projects by delivering technical information to the customer in the form of RFI/RFP responses, architectural design, related documentation, product updates and industry/competitive analysis. The role is to evangelise the Managed Service portfolio from a technical perspective helping to transform businesses and solving business issues with technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the technical strategy for nominated customers & projects Ensure all Managed Services sales are technically validated and conform to Managed Services standards Generate standard technical documentation to support the sales engagement bid response processes (RFI, RFP, ITT, SOR) Knowledge sharing of latest industry trends in technology relating to our key plays with our sales team, customers, prospects and partners Deliver solution updates covering roadmaps with our customers and prospects Technical innovation and thought leadership in to MS team Pre Sales Consultancy Support Technical Authority for sales projects Technical transition / on boarding of new projects Development and implementation of MS pre-sales standards Developing standard Statement of Requirements (SOR) engagement / documentation Administering Proof of Concept (POC) for client projects Developing the sales standard technical building blocks for MS Designing, productising and delivering assessment services Developing Technical standards across Managed Services portfolio Working with Business Services Manager to develop MS roadmap Provide on-going input into the development of the Imtech Customer Service Centre (Client Portal) and the Imtech Network management systems (NMS) Developing managed services POC practise (Chessington) Relationships Develop and maintain open, honest peer relationships with Sales, Pre Sales and Professional Services teams Develop and maintain open, honest relationships with customers, partners and colleagues Demonstrate the company values at all times in behaviour and attitude: a. Support in the development of the Managed Service portfolio and its technical services offerings in conjunction with the Managed Services management team, business development & Professional Services teams Lead the technical strategy for nominated customers & projects. This will encompass the entire Imtech ICT portfolio of Transport, Analyse, Protect, Serve and Store
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION: Qualifications / Knowledge Essential Knowledge of the following: 1. Sales & Process 2. Production of RFP s and technical responses 3. Production of Bill of materials 4. Financial analysis of technical solutions Desirable Sales Training: TAS, Holden or similar EWA/SOA Knowledge: TOGAF or similar ITIL Skills & Abilities Personal Qualities Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills. Consultancy skills, combining the ability to seek to understand customer issues and requirements whilst delivering solutions that address these. Facilitation of POC & design workshops Ability to lead and be part of a virtual team Strong self-motivation, with the ability to work on own initiative Entrepreneurial Proactive problem solver Other Must be willing to be in the office at least twice a week. Be able to stay away from home as and when needed. The role may include occasional international travel. Full and current driving licence. Live within 1 hour commute of Basingstoke / Chessington Able to obtain UK SC clearance if required. Experience Previous experience in a Technical roles: Pre-Sales or Solution Design role or a similar role with a Client, Vendor, Systems integrator, Enterprise or Service Provider and/or Managed Services Provider with current industry and 5+ Years working in a Technical / pre-sales environment. Solid experience within verticals such as: Service Provider Public Sector Large Enterprise
TECHNOLOGY KNOWLEDGE competitor knowledge around our business solutions. Proven ability to work from an office as well as remotely in virtual teams with Account Managers, Post-Sales Support, Post-Sales Consultants and all support functions. Solid experience and skills in developing and delivering both technical and non-technical presentations up to and including CXO level. Mid-Market Demonstrable experience and excellent technical knowledge in all of the following key focus areas for Imtech ICT, with a willingness to learn and develop knowledge base at a higher level with all of the other key Imtech building blocks / service propositions: Connectivity: IP routing and switching with demonstrable experience in either Juniper or Cisco portfolios. Juniper & Cisco technical certs in JNCIA/P/E CCNA, CCNP, CCIE Deep Knowledge and experience of routing and switching products such as: Juniper MX, M & T series Juniper SRX Juniper EX Switching Juniper QFabric Cisco Routing & Switching o Nexus Security and Compliance Concepts such as Firewalls, IDP and DDos mitigation and their use. Deep Knowledge and experience of: Juniper SRX,SSG, Allot DDos Mitigation Hold valid Security Certs Have been or can gain Security Clearance Virtualisation, Cloud Enablement & Business Continuity solutions Concepts for Datacentre Certifications and/or deep architectural knowledge in some
