Introduction The emergence of Information and communication technologies (ICT) has led to many transformations in people s lives and offered unprecedented opportunities and challenges for education. Educational institutions at all levels have a challenge of providing knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work in the technology driven environment to all the citizens of this country. Educational institutions should be able to harness the power of technology in increasing access to education and the quality of teaching and learning processes. Since we are moving towards knowledge-based economies, learning and teaching should be more focused on individual fulfillment, sustainable social economic and political development. The education sector in Kenya is facing challenges associated with poor and limited facilities, and quality and equity of education. The recent development of technology changes i.e. internet penetration, mobile technologies, cloud computing and Open Education Resources have provided a platform for solving the existing problems in the country s Education sector. To realize the potentials of ICT in fostering the education agenda, policy makers need to understand the ICT s role in delivering equitable and quality lifelong learning opportunities, and the sector-wide strategies of integrating ICT in education. This agenda need to be informed by debates between education and ICT sectors. It s in line with this that the University of Nairobi s School of Computing and Informatics-C4DLab in partnership with Express Communication Ltd. are organizing a two day conference on ICT integration in Education. Objectives 1. Champion policy discussions on use of ICT in content development and delivery 2. Policy recommendations on how to harness the power of ICT and innovations to address the current challenges in Education and to ensure equitable quality learning to all 3.
