HUMAN SERVICES JESSIE ALICE RAY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Jessie Alice Ray Memorial Scholarship: Student must intend to major in education and go into the teaching field (any level elementary, secondary, etc.) Student must be pursuing an Associates of Arts, General Studies, or Science Degree Student must have a 2.5 GPA minimum in high school Student must be able to complete the ACCUPLACER test at a level 9 Student just out of high school must have a recommendation from your high school principal Returning GOCC students must have a 3.25 GPA Preference given to those with experience as a classroom aid or tutor Student must maintain a 3.25 GPA while receiving the scholarship KENNETH KEN R. NELSON SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Kenneth Ken R. Nelson Scholarship: Student must intend to major in education (any level i.e. elementary, secondary, etc.) Student must be pursuing an Associates of Arts, Science, or General Studies Degree Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 Student completing high school must have a recommendation letter from their high school principal Student must be enrolled full-time (12 credits or more) Preference given to those with experience as a classroom aid or tutor Strong consideration given to application with written recommendation from faculty or high school staff. Award applied to tuition and fees only BERNICE L. STRANG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Bernice L. Strang Memorial Scholarship: Student must be enrolled in a Human Services program of study. Examples of these areas include but are not limited to: Education, Early Childhood Development, Pre-Nursing, Allied Health or any Transfer Associates Degree program Preference given to students with residency in either St. Joseph County or GOCC service area.
GENERAL JAMES JIM MARTIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the James Jim Martin Memorial Scholarship: Student must be enrolled for at least a minimum of 6 credit hours Financial need may be a consideration if there is more than one qualified applicant Student must be enrolled in an Associates of Applied Science in Technology degree or Associate of Applied Science in Business degree or a Certificate program in at least one of the following fields of study: Accounting, Drafting and Design, Electrical Technologies, Computer Information Systems, Web Page Design, Database/Programming, Management/Marketing, Management/Supervision, Office Administrative Assistant. Preference given to In-district residents of GOCC Preference given to non-traditional student (not required) The recipient will be expected to maintain a 2.5 GPA while receiving the scholarship Award applied to tuition, fees and books only INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the Indiana Michigan Power Scholarship: Student must be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours or more Student must be employed full or part-time, at the time of application or have a history of entry-level employment Students must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program in a technical field, i.e.: Associates of Applied Science in Technology or the following Certificates; Automotive Technician or Service, Drafting & Design, Electrical Technologies, Computer Support Tech, Computer Information Systems Preference given to In-district residents GOCC Preference given to non-traditional students Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA while receiving the scholarship Award applied to tuition, fees and books only GOCC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility criteria for the GOCC Foundation Scholarship: Student must be enrolled in a program for a degree or certificate at GOCC Student must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours or more) Student must be in good academic standing, with a minimum 2.5 GPA or GOCC Service area
