1 Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation (HSSF) Common Application 2014 The Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation seeks to enhance educational opportunities, inspire excellence, and engage the community to foster a legacy of achievement. A critical component in achieving this mission is to award scholarships to graduating seniors of Fishers High School and Hamilton Southeastern High School. The following common application is utilized for several HSSF administered scholarships. You may choose to apply for multiple scholarships by submitting this single application. Please note, while you should submit a single cover application (pages 3 4), you should satisfy all the requirements of the specific scholarship in which you are applying. A checklist has been provided on page 2 to assist you. It is recommended that students customize separate statements and essays for each scholarship. Before beginning the HSSF common application please note this is a distinct and separate process from the Uniform Application for Community s that you may have completed for other available funds. It is also strongly encouraged that you thoroughly read through the entire packet of information including each scholarship to determine your eligibility prior to declaring your candidacy. Applications may be delivered electronically to hsefoundation@hse.k12.in.us or delivered to the HSE Administration Building at Cumberland Rd. All applications must be received by 4pm on March 21, All mailed or delivered scholarship applications must be submitted in a 9 x 12 envelope 3. applications should be legible, typed preferred. 4. All applications must be accompanied by a résumé or summary of activities. This information should include employment experience, community service, extra curricular activities, and awards. It is beneficial to the selection committee to also include duration of experience. 5. Failure to submit required items may disqualify you for specific scholarships 6. s are made payable to intended school of choice and not directly to the recipient 7. 5 Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation Administered s Chasity Bradford Memorial A $750 scholarship will be awarded to a senior at Hamilton Southeastern High School 1. Must be a member of the girl s track team 2. Must have a C+ grade average or higher 3. Must demonstrate the qualities and characteristics of athletic achievement, kindness, friendliness, and community service 4. Must have a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or other advisor Richard H. Crosser Memorial A $500 $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior(s) at Hamilton Southeastern H.S and/or Fishers H.S. 1. Must intend to major in a field related to building trades (accounting, engineering, architecture, business, interior design, etc.) 2. Must plan on attending a two or four year Indiana college or university 3. Top 1/3 of your class 4. Must be involved in a variety of activities Fishers Dental Alliance A $500 $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior both Hamilton Southeastern H.S and Fishers H.S. 1. 6 Walter F. Kelly A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior at either Hamilton Southeastern H.S or Fishers H.S. 1. Must intend to major in a field related to business or politics 2. Must plan on attending a four year college or university 3. Top 1/3 of your class 4. Must be involved in a variety of activities future goals Charles Leonard A $500 $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior(s) at Hamilton Southeastern H.S and/or Fishers H.S. 1. Must intend to major in a field related to education/teaching 2. Must plan on attending a four year college or university 3. Top 1/3 of your class 4. Must be involved in a variety of activities Joseph Liddell Memorial A $500 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female graduating senior from Fishers High School. Note: recipients will be selected by representatives of Harrison Parkway Elementary and the Liddell Family. 1. Must have attended Harrison Parkway Elementary for three complete school years. Must indicate years of attendance 2. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and attach a high school transcript 3. Must plan on attending a four year college or university 4. Must submit two (2) letters of recommendations from teachers, counselors, coaches or other adults who can attest to the student s character and work ethic 5. Must submit a brief summary of the student s college and career plans/goals. Please also include a summary of how the student s early years at HPE helped pave the way for their education. 6

7 Saxony/Republic for Achievement in the Arts A $500 $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior(s) at Hamilton Southeastern H.S and/or Fishers H.S. 1. Must intend to pursue an education in the visual or performing arts 2. Must have overcome adversity 3. Top 1/2 of your class 4. Make a statement on the adversity you had in your life and how you overcame it 5. Provide no more than two letters of reference Simply Dental Sponsored by Simply Dental, $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior at either Hamilton Southeastern H.S or Fishers H.S. 1. Must intend to major in a field related to dentistry 2. Must plan to attend a two or four year college or university 3. Must be involved in a variety of activities 4. Make a short essay highlighting your plans as they relate to your educational and career objectives and Claire Tatom Memorial Sponsored by Geist Elementary PTO, the Clair Tatom Memorial is a $500 scholarship awarded to one male and one female student graduating from either Hamilton Southeastern H.S or Fishers H.S. 1.
