Magnolia House eating disorders program
The Bridge That Leads Home. Magnolia House makes Laureate an ideal place for recovery. A group home on the Laureate campus, Magnolia House meets the needs of women transitioning from intensive treatment to community living. A transition from therapy into life The Magnolia House program integrates therapeutic living with real-life activities. Residents practice recovery skills in a lessstructured setting with group, staff and community support. The program incorporates psychotherapy, nutrition therapy, and medication management with other therapies for a balanced approach. Magnolia House is purposefully kept small to provide effective, individualized support and treatment. Women who participate in Magnolia House will have successfully completed intensive treatment and demonstrated the ability to live in this semi-structured environment. Most residents have completed the intensive phase of treatment in the Laureate Eating Disorders Program. For women who have completed their intensive work elsewhere, we evaluate readiness for Magnolia House on a case-bycase basis.
We put her future first. Where Our Journey With You Continues Relationships form the foundation of the Magnolia House program. Each evening, staff provides a therapeutic meal for all residents, followed by a process group which offers support and guidance. Weekly supervised dinner outings at local restaurants allow residents to practice recovery-oriented eating and relationship skills. Challenge Evenings are planned by residents to practice countering eating disorder-related beliefs about various foods and activities. To learn healthier lifestyles that last long after treatment, residents also plan, shop for groceries, and prepare a meal which they share. During the day, residents work, volunteer or attend school. Residents also attend outside activities (such as 12-step, support and aftercare groups) each week to promote community involvement and expansion of support networks. Magnolia House residents continue their treatment through specialized outpatient services. These include psychotherapy, nutrition therapy and medication management to provide eating disorderspecific care, as well as treatment of co-occurring disorders, such as depression, anxiety and substance abuse. Staying Connected to Care Magnolia House is one part of the Laureate Eating Disorders Program s full continuum of care for women recovering from eating disorders. Acute, residential, partial hospitalization and outpatient care are available to meet the needs of residents. In addition, Saint Francis Hospital and Warren Clinic, adjacent to the Laureate campus, provide comprehensive medical care.
Our care delivers results. An Experienced Team Who Cares Magnolia House residents join a team of experienced psychiatrists, therapists, dietitians, and case managers who collaborate to provide optimal care.
