ASU Night of the Open Door events offer more than 100 activities on four campuses, from wielding a medieval sword to state-of-the-art technology. UCENT 2nd Floor Lobby Area Cronkite School Tour Throughout Night of the Open Door, students and staff will lead tours of the Cronkite School, a 225,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art media complex home to Arizona PBS and the Cronkite s competitive professional programs in broadcast, multimedia and sports journalism, entrepreneurship, new media and public relations. Walter Cronkite School lobby Cronkite School: Reporting in the Field on Check out our interactive, hands-on booth where Cronkite School students lead you through a professional, on-camera set up in the field. CSI Phoenix Investigate real cadavers, cadaver plastinates (think Body Works but less dramatic and gory), and the powerful Anatomy 3D software as we showcase some of the instrumentation you d find in a real CSI lab. (Check out the beautiful saltwater ecosystem while you re in 375.) UCENT 375, 381 and 383 How Safe Is It to Ride a Rollercoaster? A mini-roller coaster demonstrates the physics behind these thrilling amusement park rides. Enjoy a few other hands-on physics activities, including FUN FLY STICKS (levitate incredible metallic-looking shapes), FAKE PIGGY (a 3D image generated using parabolic mirrors), and see LIGHTNING form before your eyes. UCENT 371 Lightning Talks Inspired by the profoundly popular TED Talks, listen to a select group of faculty experts who are championing advancements in health and community-related projects in ASU s College of Health Solutions, College of Nursing & Health Innovation, and College of Public Service and Community Solutions. Sun Devil Fitness Complex The Sun Devil Fitness Complex is a studentfunded fitness facility that offers ASU students, faculty and staff the opportunity to pursue a healthy lifestyle through exercise and play. Connected to the Lincoln Family Downtown YMCA on the ground floor, The Sun Devil Fitness complex serves members of both the YMCA and the ASU communities. Student staff will be on hand to provide tours of the Sun Devil Fitness Complex. Sun Devil Fitness Complex Downtown Phoenix Trio Devils Downtown Phoenix Campus 4-6 p.m. Check out the Downtown Phoenix Campus Trio Devils. The downtown organization will be giving out hot chocolate and pastries. You will be able to learn more about what the Downtown Student Organization is doing for our students and local community! Trivia + Football = Thrive The Programming and Activities Board Downtown is excited to host a football toss game for Night of the Open Door! For this game, the participants will be asked a trivia question. If answered correctly, they will have 3 chances to successfully throw a small football through one of the fives slots. Upon making it through a slot, the participant will receive one free PAB item! Step Student Gallery 1-7 p.m. The Step Gallery will be open to the public.
