2 Steps to Organizing a Picture Bingo Community Event 1. Find a space in the community to hold the event. (school, band office, nursing station, library, community hall) 2. Advertise the Picture Bingo at least one week before the event. Picture bingo is a great activity for the whole family. Put posters up around the community, advertise on the local radio station, or green screen and hand out invitations at the school. Tell everyone about it! Posters and invitations are included in this package. 3. Have prizes for the children who win the bingo! (books, pencils, writing paper, pens, erasers) Give the a call and we can send you some books!!!! 4. When people arrive make sure all players have a marker and one bingo sheet. 5. Put all the pictures in a hat and draw the pictures out one at a time. Have children guess what the picture is by giving them a clue. For example if the picture is a hat ask them what you wear on your head. 6. Choose any of the following for your Bingo: One line, two lines, four corners, L shape, black out. Play at least four bingos for each card. 7. Have winners choose a prize and encourage those that win twice to give a prize to a friend. 8. Have a snack at the end of the evening and ask players if they enjoyed themselves and if they would like to play again sometime. 9. Ask the local paper to come to your event and do a story about Family. 10. Thank your sponsors at your event and by writing them a letter. 11. Make up your own Bingo game with the blank bingo card attached.

3 Make the event monthly and ask the local band office, Co-op, Northern or a local business for donations of prizes.

4 Ideas for Different Age Ages 3-6 Groups Picture Bingo is a great way to engage young children. Have children guess what you are about to say by giving hints. Children love to guess and it will help them with the oral language skills and they will be able to relate to the game better. For example if you pull out the hat picture you could say Something you wear on your head. Give children an opportunity to shout out the answers. Ages 7 9 Have children guess what the picture is and then write the first letter of the word in the square. For example if you pull out sun have them write an s in the square that has the sun in it. Write the letter on the whiteboard to help those who have difficulty writing. Pick volunteers to pick out a picture and give a clue to the rest of the group. If they pick out the bike picture a clue would be Something you ride in the summer. Have children work in groups and match the words to the picture. Cut out words for each group and have children cover the picture with the correct word. (words are attached) Ages 10 and up Have children write the word in the square when a picture is called. When someone calls bingo make sure to check the spelling. Have children work in pairs or groups in order to help those that have difficultly spelling. Have older children run and organize a bingo for the younger children.
