1 N03-16 Announcing a Special Seminar The Labor Department s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) recently announced a major shift in its enforcement strategy that is aimed at looking for and eradicating systemic discrimination. The agency s new enforcement strategy puts a particular emphasis on the desk audit phase of a compliance review, and thus the importance of quality desk audit submissions. Because properly conducted impact ratio analyses (IRAs) can help to avoid questions by OFCCP about desk audit data that might otherwise lead to further investigation, or can alert a contractor to potential issues that can be addressed before a desk audit is even scheduled, EEAC is putting on a special seminar on Conducting Effective Impact Ratio Analyses (IRAs) in Preparing for a. The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday,, at the, located at 1400 M Street, N.W.,. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and a continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. This will be a one-day technical seminar for HR professionals, managers and attorneys involved in developing strategies for and conducting IRAs for hires, promotions, terminations, downsizings and other employment selections. Using exercises and discussion, it will focus on strategic considerations and techniques for grouping employees to yield valid analyses that will provide either an indicator of potential problem areas or an effective defense against challenges to the selection system.
