If you missed the registration deadline you may still turn in a RSVP this week (August 6 10 th ), along with $15.00 each. Please make checks payable to the ʺDenton 4 H Fund.ʺ Extra meals will not be ordered so be sure to RSVP today. If you have any questions concerning the banquet, please contact the 4 H Office at We are looking forward to seeing you ʺunder the sea.ʺ Final Thoughts So much to do and so little time to do it in. I have included the stock show updates that I received last week at State TAE4HA conference, in very brief form. You will need to visit each show s website to get the specifics. Hopefully your club managers have shared the Major Show lamb/goat tag orders with you by now. That information is due to the 4 H Office ASAP. Please get with your club manager soon to place those orders. You will see several approaching deadlines clubs need to have their charters and club manager nominations in the 4 H Office by Thursday, August 9 th. There is a mandatory Club Manager training on the16th and 4 H Office training on the 19 th. There are several opportunities for your clubs to promote the 4 H program at either the North Texas State Fair or at the Gardening InfoFest. Remember that we are now in the centennial year for 4 H. You will see various marketing pieces rolled out throughout the year. Keep an eye out for information regarding ways your 4 H club can help celebrate 100 years of 4 H in Texas. Don t for get Denton County s own efforts to celebrate the centennial. It isn t too late to find sponsors or donate to our 100 for 100 efforts. This fundraiser will net the program close to $10,000 if we reach the minimum goal of 100 donors. We are just asking for one donor per 4 H member it may seem small, but if every 4 H member only got a $25 donation that would still be over $6,000! I will still be in and out of the office until late August. If you need anything you can speak with Ms. Johnson or send me an e mail. I hope you have each had a great summer and I can t believe that is it almost gone! Best Wishes Jennifer L.
