Sessions offered include baked foods, photography, preserved foods, quilting, public presentations, kitchen food activities, needle arts, and plant science. There is a registration fee of $25 per person for the entire day, which includes judging materials, facility costs, and instructor expense. Lunch will also be provided. The registration deadline is February 25. For more information and registration information see the event flyer. Springtime Youth Calf Sale The Washington State 4-H Foundation Dairy Endowment Committee 2015 Springtime Youth Calf Sale will be held March 21 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, WA. SYCS Sale Catalog Visit website for more information. Calf Grants Grants of $500 are available to 4-H youth to purchase dairy calves. For more information about applying and rules, see the SYCS Calf Grant Application Form. Due date is Feb. 23. College Scholarships The Springtime Youth Calf Sale provides two-$500 scholarships to applicants. To qualify you must have purchased a calf or helped at the Springtime Youth Calf Sale, must be or have been enrolled in 4-H or FFA, and for a senior in high school or currently attending college, must have not reached their 21st birthday before January 1. Cougar Youth Weekend Greetings from Washington State University and the WSU Dairy Club! The weekend event is designed for youth ages 8-18 (3rd-12th Grade) to learn about care and handling of dairy animals through hands-on activities. Workshops taught by WSU faculty and volunteers will address key points of your 4-H dairy projects. We will also be providing the opportunity for youth and family to tour one or more of the following facilities: the University of Idaho dairy, the WSU Creamery, and/or the WSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Shooting Sports Leader Training Offered Receive certification for two disciplines in a single weekend at the Northwest 4-H Shooting Sports Double Discipline Leader Training. Both events will be held the weekend of April at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds in Coeur d Alene, with registrations due by Friday, April 3, A brief description of each program along with the link to the respective registration packet can be found below: Beginning Level - This training is designed for 4-H leaders seeking their initial Shooting Sports certification in archery, hunting, pistol, rifle and/or shotgun. Participants can obtain certification for one discipline in a single day or certification for two disciplines over the entire weekend. More Information and Registration. Advanced Archery - This training is designed for 4-H Shooting Sports leaders who have at least one year of experience since receiving their archery certification. Participants will gain extensive knowledge and skills necessary to achieve USA Archery Level 2 certification. More Information and Registration. Download Event Flyer and Registration Women in Ag Conference WSU Extension is sponsoring a Women in Agriculture Conference on Saturday, February 21 in 28 locations in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Alaska. Through a partnership with CHS Foundation scholarship money is available for both 4-H and FFA students to attend. Do you know any high school students in your 4-H program who are interested in an agriculture-related career? For $5 they can attend this conference and learn about marketing, as well as meet other women producers for a day of inspiration and networking. This is a great opportunity to meet women in a variety of ag-related fields and hear first-hand about their careers and passion for agriculture. 4 You Don't need Super Powers to be a HERO Find out more 4-H Riding Event Ghost Gamers 4-H club and Range Riders 4-H Club are hosting a 4-H riding event at the Fairgrounds Saturday, February 21 st beginning at 10:00 a.m.. You MUST be enrolled in 4-H for the 2015 year to ride! This will count as our first county Event for Fair. This training is mandatory. To register for Put the Child First go to: Fill in the information requested and press Submit Request. You will receive an automatic with log-in information to view the presentation. Your registration for the training will be kept in the system as proof of your participation.
